DJ Akademiks had recently bashed DJ Hed during a live stream on Sunday, August 25, 2024, after the latter dismissed the claims of Kendrick Lamar working on a new project. For the unversed, the course of events began after a user posted a screenshot of a chat, reportedly with Lamar. In the chat, K.Dot could be seen mentioning that a new album was upcoming, confirming Akademiks' prior report about the upcoming album.

The same was, however, denied by DJ Hed. In a tweet, he first re-quoted the post by Kurrco which included the screenshot of the alleged message, and mentioned a cap emoji. In a follow-up tweet, he wrote,

"Dot don’t really talk to nobody.. especially not Ak."

This prompted DJ Akademiks to respond to Hed's comments. During the livestream, he explained that he was the "greatest journalist" and that he had reported on some big shots including Drake, Lil Yachty, and Jay-Z. He said,

"I'm the greatest single journalist you've ever heard of. I built a $20 million industry by doing this sh*t. When I tell you something came from or something I know when it comes to Kendrick or whatever-- I don't give a f*ck who Kendrick is, I don't give a f*ck about none of these n****s."

Akademiks claimed that he had reported on several artists, even if he had never met those personalities. He further attacked DJ Hed claiming that he had made millions of dollars working with several people who are now working with Lamar.

DJ Hed had debunked the rumors of Kendrick Lamar working on an upcoming album

While the viral screenshot claimed that Lamar was allegedly working on a project, that was to be released in the near future, DJ Hed claimed that the claims were false. The original post with the screenshot was removed from the internet, however, several other posts including the same are still present online.

However, although Hed debunked the latest claims about Lamar, he had commented in June in a conversation with Bootleg Kev, that he wouldn't be shocked if the Not Like Us rapper dropped something new. In the interview, he additionally mentioned:

"I wouldn't be surprised if we got something soon, but I don't know. That's not me, I don't know for sure."

DJ Hed gave his insights on Kendrick Lamar's Pop Out - Ken & Friends Concert, which took place on June 19 in Inglewood. While talking to XXL Mag, Hed revealed that he had known Lamar for several years. He further mentioned how grateful he was for being a part of the entire event. While meeting Kendrick Lamar backstage during the concert, DJ Hed reportedly told him:

"Bro when you go you out there, this is it, this is the moment," Hed said he told Kendrick. "Own the moment this ain’t about nobody else, this ain’t about nobody, it’s not about me… This is your moment, I want you to go out there and I really want you to just own that s**t."

Coming back to the recent speculations about K.Dot releasing a new album, and DJ Hed debunking them, fans didn't seem to believe the latter's statements. Additionally, no clarification has been made by Lamar at the time of writing this article.
