Rapper T-Pain put his Davenport concert on hold to address the crowd after they threw objects towards the stage. On Thursday, August 1, 2024, the Bartender hitmaker paused his Mississippi Valley Fair (MVF) grandstand performance midway to state:

"As a muthaf*cka that turns 40 this year, I'm not obligated to stay up here while muthaf*ckas keep disrespecting me."

Immediately after the rapper's remark, an empty bottle hurled by a concertgoer landed near him. He continued:

"I don't want to sound like an *sshole, but you wouldn't stay up here if you just kept getting disrespected like that. That's just weird."

Per a report by News 8 citing audience members who attended the show, the crowd was throwing beer cans, cups, bottles, and other objects on the stage.

"I'm not a f*cking clown"—T-Pain calls out fans for disrespecting him, threatens to leave the show

Through T-Pain's address, fans can be heard chanting his name. The I'm So Hood hitmaker also acknowledged that it was just a few who were the problem.

He remarked that he wants to continue performing and have fun, threatening that he would leave the show halfway if the disrespect continued.

"I'm not saying that I want to leave... I'm not p*ssed or anything. But there is only so much sh*t I'm (going to take)," T-Pain stated.

The rapper continued:

"I'm not a f*cking clown. I'm not gonna sit up here and get pies thrown in my face and sh*t. I don't want to leave halfway through, trust me, but I can't stay up this muthaf*cka getting disrespected. That's all I'm saying."

Following the brief pause, T-Pain continued the show without interruptions. However, Shawn Loter, the Mississippi Valley Fair General Manager, later told News 8 that fans continued to throw objects at the rapper.

He praised the two-time Grammy Award-winning artist for how he handled the situation, saying:

"I think he put on a heck of a show. He did. Yeah, he handled himself, tried to explain not to do that otherwise he'd walk off the stage. Then they continued to do it, but he stuck it out and finished his show."

Loter also noted that they tightened security for future performances at the fair grounds, including Bret Michaels' show on Friday. He cautioned concertgoers against "throwing stuff," stating that "we will grab you, we will take your fun card away, and we'll no trespass you." Additionally, he explained that if the object they threw hits someone, they could get charged with assault.

Per a report by KWQC, the MVF venue has signs at its east entrance, reading, "For the safety of our patrons and entertainers, no throwing of any objects will be allowed. Patrons caught throwing anything will be escorted off the premises by security."

Loter also spoke about a separate incident that occurred earlier this week when a group of people knocked off an employee scanning their tickets. It left her hospitalized, and the venue authorities have since beefed up their security.

T-Pain has not released any statements about the concert.
