Mike Tyson has spoken out for the first time following the arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs. This comes after the latter was held without bail on September 16 as he faced s*x trafficking charges, amongst others. Meanwhile, the musician's trial date, May 5, 2025, was recently announced.

The Daily Mail exclusively published their interview with Mike Tyson on Friday, September 11. Diddy’s long-time friend, Mike Tyson, wished him “all the best.” When the champion was asked whether he was surprised with his name being associated with the infamous rapper, Tyson said:

“Wait, I’m synonymous with Diddy? Well, that’s cool. I never knew that.”

When asked whether he had any message for the Bad Boy Records mogul, Mike Tyson said:

“I wish him the best. In life, I wish him the best.”

Diddy and Mike Tyson have shared a friendship in the past

Mike Tyson is one of the many celebrities who have been linked to Diddy. The retired heavyweight was photographed with Combs at several parties over the years. However, it is worth noting that it remains unclear as to whether he took part in any salacious activities like Combs’ “Freak Off” sessions during their unions.

In 1998, Tyson and Combs were spotted joking around before one of the former’s matches. The former also addressed his relationship with the latter in an interview with PBD Podcast last year by saying:

“I just know him for a long time. I knew him before he was Diddy and for a long time. When I first became champ I knew him.”

Mike Tyson also jokingly called him “Sugar Diddy” last year.

Speaking about their adventures together and what Diddy’s parties were like, Tyson told Patrick Bet-David:

“I remember him he used to have crates when he’s at my after parties and stuff.”

Diddy now awaits his May 5, 2025, trial after facing s*x trafficking, pr*stitution and racketeering conspiracy charges. He has been denied bail three times so far. Before his arrest, Combs was served 12 civil lawsuits where he was accused of physical assault, gang r*pe, rape, drugging alleged victims, and more. Some of his accusers included Cassie Ventura, Joi Dickerson-Neal, Liza Gardner, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, Crystal McKinney, April Lampros, Dawn Richard, and Thalia Graves, among others.

Since then, Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee also came forward to reveal that he was representing 120 alleged victims who were reportedly s*xually and physically abused by Diddy. The victims, which included 60 males and 60 females, also reportedly included minors, with one being as young as 15 years old.

Combs now remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His lawyers requested bail multiple times, citing the jail’s “horrific” conditions. However, a federal judge argued that Combs was considered a “serious flight risk.”

If Combs is seeing prison time, he could face prison up to life, especially if he is convicted on the racketeering charge against him. He will also be facing a statutory maximum of 15 years if convicted on his s*x trafficking charge.

Diddy has maintained his innocence as multiple alleged victims came forward with accusations.
