Comedian Andrew Schulz has sparked backlash online after making some remarks about Kendrick Lamar that netizens perceived as disturbing. Andrew responded to Kendrick's take on white comedians in the December 4 episode of his Flagrant podcast with co-hosts Akaash Singh, alongside Mark Gagnon and AlexxMedia.
The bar "Don't let no white comedian talk about no Black woman, that's law" from Kendrick's GNX track wacced out murals prompted Andrew’s comments.
In the now-viral clip from his podcast, the 41-year-old comedian said Kendrick's team, his fellow rappers, and supporters are capable of suing him, doing whatever they want with him. However, Andrew added:
"Just Kendrick — I would make love to him and there's nothing he could do about it."
While the co-hosts reacted to Andrew's comments with laughter, he continued:
"And the only thing that he could do is decide if it's consensual or not."
As the clip went viral on social media, netizens condemned the comedian's words.
"least funny person of all time. just weird for the sake of being weird", wrote one X user.
"Bro what type of weird sh*t is this ?", wondered another.
"I agree with him being able to joke on anyone as a comedian but he lost me with this one", said one person.
Some people pointed out Andrew Schulz's comment might have stemmed from his belief that he could easily take Kendrick Lamar out in physical strength due to his height.
"He looked at Kendrick and sized him up and that’s his assumption", wrote one.
"Why do people equate height to strength. To generalize you can make a case for this, but i’ve seen fit 5’6 dudes knock out people 6’3", resonated another.
"The n**gas laughing is worse than this dude fantasizing about s*xually assaulting a black man. Given the history of buck breaking, this is horrible", commented one X user.
"Saying you would r*pe another man on a podcast sober is insane", chimed in another.
Andrew Schulz calls Kendrick Lamar "our woke king" over his wacced out murals diss
Although Kendrick Lamar did not mention a specific name in his diss at white comedians in wacced out murals, it was speculated to have been directed at Andrew Schulz. The comedian is reportedly known for often subjecting Black women to controversial jokes on his podcast.
While joking about making love to Kendrick Lamar without his consent, Andrew Schulz said:
"I'll go so far as to say, I don't think he could stop most people on the planet from having s*x with him."
The comedian mocked Kendrick, saying he keeps security around only to stop people from having their way with him. He continued:
"I know...for Kendrick — he's talking a lot of sh*t. But if it came down to it, I could put him on my lap, I could feed him a bottle."
Andrew later claimed he would not engage in "acts of physical violence", but that he would be romantic in his approach. He added:
"I'm saying we could be romantic with him and there's nothing he could do about it to the point like, I think I'm so charming he would just fall into it...I think he would just be so charmed!"
As Andrew and the co-hosts continued laughing over the jokes, he said:
"But in all seriousness, we love Kendrick Lamar, our woke king, and I think we're gonna do our best to abide by his rule."
Elsewhere during the podcast, in response to Kendrick Lamar’s line from the track, Andrew Schulz sarcastically implied how women are often objectified in rap songs:
"Nobody has respected women more, through art, than rappers. So I completely understand how a rapper could look at a comedian telling a joke and be like, 'Yo y'all need to switch that s**t up. How dare y'all keep saying your wives are annoying?"
Co-host Aakash Singh joined Andrew in the jab, citing Kendrick Lamar allegedly threatening to pull his music from Spotify over R. Kelly’s censorship.
He further critiqued how R. Kelly, convicted for his alleged s*xual assault against Black women and children, is seemingly in Kendrick Lamar's good books.
