On Wednesday, January 15, Chris Brown took to his Instagram stories to claim that he wishes to see Donald Trump on the 100-dollar bill if the president-elect manages to shut down the Internal Revenue System (IRS) during his second tenure. This comes after Brown made headlines in 2023 for owing over four million dollars in unpaid state and federal taxes. Netizens have since taken to social media to react to Brown’s latest statement.
Chris Brown said on his Instagram stories, the platform where he has amassed over 144 million followers:
“Anyone else hoping that Trump shuts down the IRS? If he pull that off…….. PUT THAT MAN ON A THE hundred dollar bill.”
On Tuesday, January 14, President-elect Trump announced that he wanted to create a new government agency, the External Revenue Service, to “collect tariffs, duties, and all revenue” from foreign sources. This comes after Trump opined in the past that Americans had been taxed for too long under the IRS.

Back in November 2022, Brown took to his Instagram account to diss Donald Trump and allegedly not being supportive of “Black culture.” The R&B artist said online:
“F**K TRUMP AND F**K THE PIGS! TO SEE THIS EVIL SH*T IS SO WRONG! GOD WILL HAVE HIS REVENGE! TRUST ME! WITHOUT OUR BLACK CULTURE, ASIAN CULTURE, LATIN CULTURE, MUSLIMS, AND ANY RACE THAT YOU DONT APPROVE OF HELP YOU TO BE WHO THE F**K YOU ARE. It is also worth noting that Donald Trump did not state that he would be shutting down the IRS. He stated on Truth Social that he intends to stop the department from “overstepping,” which is not the same as a complete shutdown.
Back in 2023, Distractify reported that Brown was facing a hefty tax bill that included a federal tax lien of $2,245,561.50, with the government adding another $1,059,967. The State of California also demanded an additional cut of $739,067.48.
