Well-known rapper Oschino recently addressed Kendrick Lamar's feud with Drake earlier this year. In conversation with DJ Vlad, Oschino described the feud as the "dirtiest, nastiest, bottom-scraping battle of all time." He claimed that he found Drake's lyrics much better and said:
"You know you hear a song. They play a song so much that it make you like, all right. When I first heard the song, I just didn't, I mean, I just really didn't. I think Drake's lyrics were better."
DJ Vlad claimed that Family Matters was the best song that was released during the dispute by Drake and it is the only song that he likes to listen to. He even stated that he understands the significance of Not Like Us, a track released by Kendrick Lamar. Vasquez replied by saying:
"They like Kendrick Lamar so much that because he the West Coast savior. He got the whole West Coast so they gonna anything he do they gonna like oh you mean. But to me I think Drake better to me. But Drake don't write his song. Of course he can't be better than him."
DJ Vlad mentioned that Drake currently does not have a new song on the charts for the first time in 12 years. Vasquez referred to the same by saying:
"He went dormant a little bit right now. He killed the game so bad that it's like. He killed the game. He had so many hits that it was like Drake was the face of rap."
Oschino had previously praised Drake on another occasion
Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud began in April this year with the former releasing two diss tracks, Push Ups and Taylor Made Freestyle. The latter also replied with a song titled Euphoria.
While the feud continued, Oschino addressed the same while speaking on a podcast for the African Cultural Art Forum in Philadelphia the following month. He called Lamar "overrated" in the interview, saying that Drake has a huge fanbase. He explained and stated:
"Drake got the most hits. Girls like Drake. Drake comes across as a nice guy."
Although he praised Kendrick Lamar for his flawless work with the lyrics, Oschino also said:
"People like something they don't understand a little bit. You need to be saying some crazy double entendres sometimes, but Kendrick Lamar got a lot of songs I don't like. Lyrics? He's hot. But some of the songs, they ain't for me."
He continued appreciating Drake by calling his work "hot" and "lyrical." Speaking of Kendrick, Vasquez said that he does not find Lamar's songs "hot" compared to Drake.
Drake and Lamar shared a close friendship over the years and the feud started with the release of First Person Shooter, a collaborative single of Drake and J. Cole. The lyrics mentioned that Drake, Lamar, and Cole were the "big three", and Lamar replied to the same with Like That.
This feud was featured in a documentary titled Public Enemies: Kendrick vs Drake. The documentary was released on October 29, 2024, on Channel 4.
