In a recent Netflix comedy series, What Had Happened Was…, released on Monday, December 9, actor Jamie Foxx opened up about his near-death experience following a brain hemorrhage and stroke. On the show, he further jokingly compared Diddy to the devil.
As he described the April 2023 mysterious sickness that rendered him unable to walk and necessitated emergency brain surgery, the actor found it difficult to contain his tears. He also remembered a doctor telling his sister that they might "lose him."
During the Atlanta show, he told the audience about being unconscious, while filming Back in Action with Cameron Diaz in the same city. Talking about the same, he said:
"Your life doesn’t flash before your face. It was kind of oddly peaceful… I saw the tunnel. I didn’t see the light. I was in that tunnel, though. It was hot in that tunnel. Sh*t, am I going to the wrong place in this motherf*cker? Because I looked at the end of the tunnel, and I thought I saw the devil like, ‘Come on’... Or was that Puffy?”
Jamie Foxx teared up as he recounted the entire narrative of his collapse and thanked his sister, Deirdre Dixon, for saving his life. He further said:
“It is a mystery. We still don’t know exactly what happened to me...”

Jamie Foxx further talked about Combs, who is accused of kidnapping, drugging, and forcing women into s*xual acts, at the start of the show. Then addressing the viral rumors that Diddy was involved in his hospitalization, he said:
“The internet was saying that Puffy was trying to kill me. I know what you’re thinking… Did he?!”
Further opening up about the incident, Foxx then added:
“April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for an aspirin. I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f*ck to do… Before I could get the aspirin [clicks his fingers] I went out. I don’t remember 20 days."
The Spiderman star continued by saying that his friends drove him to an Atlanta doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and "sent me home" but his sister Deidra Dixon "knew something was wrong."
She then took him to Piedmont Hospital, which was "just 400 yards away" from the location where the Netflix show was being filmed.
While wearing a tan leather t-shirt and matching slacks, the Oscar winner actor went on to describe how an Atlanta doctor then informed his sister that he had experienced "a brain bleed that has led to a stroke".
The doctor further said that he would die if surgery wasn't performed right away. Jamie Foxx further recalled that when his sister was informed of this, she knelt outside the operation room and prayed the entire time.
As per the Netflix show, following the treatment, the doctor informed Dixon that although Jamie Foxx might recover completely, this would be the worst year of his life. Foxx also described how he "woke up" at a rehabilitation facility in Chicago on May 4, 2023, and "found myself in a wheelchair."
He then got emotional on stage while performing and wiped his eyes as he described the incident. He added that, in spite of what he was being told, he was unable to comprehend that he had suffered a stroke. Foxx then described in detail how he was taken to Chicago for treatment.
He further shared with the audience his lengthy recuperation process and his resistance to a nurse bathing him. He also described how he finally met his nurse as she was cleaning his face, brushing his teeth, and doing other things.
However, he never directly accused Sean of poisoning him. Meanwhile, Diddy is presently awaiting trial on allegations of s*x trafficking and racketeering at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he is in federal detention.
