Kim Porter’s father, Jake, has opined on the viral surveillance footage of Diddy physically assaulting Cassie Ventura in 2016. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Jake Porter expressed concerns over his late daughter’s well-being while she was in a relationship with the Bad Boy mogul.

“You can say I was disgusted with the video, and I wouldn’t treat my enemy like that. It was despicable… I couldn’t believe it. I was in Vietnam, and I wouldn’t do that to my enemy," he said.

This comes after Howard University stripped Sean “Diddy” Combs of his honorary degree. Meanwhile, Jake Porter’s daughter, Kim, passed away in 2018 from lobar pneumonia. She was in a relationship with Combs from 1994 to 2007. The couple welcomed their three children, Christian Combs and twin daughters Jessie and D’lila Combs, as well.

“I didn’t know he could stoop that low” — Jake Porter expresses shock over Diddy assaulting Cassie in viral surveillance footage

In the extensive interview, Jake Porter revealed that he had never witnessed his daughter get abused by Combs; however, he was uncertain of what happened behind closed doors. He shared that he did not think that Combs could even commit such a heinous act.

“I didn’t know he could stoop that low. I imagine it surprised a lot of people. I wouldn’t even do a dog like that. My heart goes out to Cassie," Jake said.

Cassie Ventura filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November after the duo were in a tumultuous relationship between 2007 and 2018. In the lawsuit, which settled in less than 48 hours, Ventura accused Combs of r*ping, s*trafficking, and drugging her, among other allegations.

Meanwhile, in the concerning surveillance footage, which was released a few weeks ago, Combs was seen kicking and throwing Ventura repeatedly.

Jake Porter also detailed Kim’s relationship with Diddy by saying that she was genuinely in love with him; however, she could reportedly not live with his fits of jealousy.

“They both loved each other. Kim’s love was legitimate. Puffy’s love, I don’t know that he calls love, you know what I mean? I really don’t think he has any idea what love is.. My only concern is the children," he said.

Inside Kim Porter and Diddy's relationship

Model and actress Kim Porter began dating Combs in 1994 after the latter had initially seen her with her ex-boyfriend at Uptown Records. Before meeting the billionaire, Kim was already a mother to Quincy Brown, whom she welcomed in 1991 with Al B. Sure!

Speaking about his relationship with Kim, Combs said in a 2006 Essence interview:

“I was admiring her- her lips, her eyes, her mouth, her shape, her energy- and thinking, ‘I wish I had a girl like that.’”

The couple welcomed Christian Combs in 1998, just before they split and Combs began dating Jennifer Lopez.

Throughout Kim and Comb’s relationship, the former raised four children. When the couple finally split, the former revealed that it was due to Combs’ infidelity, as he was expecting a daughter with his friend Sarah Chapman. Speaking about how she decided to end the relationship while she was expecting her daughters, who are twins, she told Essence:

“I was like, 'Dude, this is so wack I can't even respect you right now.' And for me, once the respect is gone, I'm not even listening to you."

Kim died in November 2018 from lobar pneumonia after being found in her Los Angeles home.
