Former Pussycat Dolls member Kaya Jones recently revisited her old claims about the group, in the wake of Sean "Diddy" Combs' recent assault and abuse allegations. In response to Elon Musk's post about the music mogul, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, Jones shared a 2017 article where she claimed the pop group was a "prostitution ring."

Earlier this week, the X owner shared a post about Combs being accused of assault by 120 new victims, including a 9-year-old boy at the time of the complaint, with the comment:

"How many people in music & entertainment knew about this?"

This prompted Kaya Jones to tweet:

"Here you go @elonmusk I’ve been speaking since 2017. No one listened."

Kaya Jones alleged in 2017 that she felt pressured to "sleep with" people when she was part of the Pussycat Dolls

The Pussycat Dolls were a girl group founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995. Initially a burlesque troupe, they decided to go mainstream as a pop group and signed with Interscope Geffen A&M Records in 2003. They released their multi-platinum debut album PCD in 2005, which included hits like Don’t Cha.

Kaya Jones was a member of the group from 2003 to 2004 before she abruptly left, due to mistreatment. Jones initially made headlines in 2017, when she shared a series of tweets, stating the following:

"My truth. I wasn’t in a girl group. I was in a prostitution ring. Oh & we happened to sing & be famous. While everyone who owned us made the $."

She continued:

"To be apart of the team you must be a team player. Meaning sleep with whoever they say. If you don't they have nothing on you to leverage."

The singer claimed the members were forced to "sleep with whoever they say." She continued to describe that period of time, stating it was bad enough that she "walked away from (her) dreams, bandmates, & a 13 million dollar record deal."

In her tweets, Jones alleged that Robin Antin and the record label made all the money, while the members were paid just $500 a week. She further added that they were "abused & used."

Kaya Jones concluded her rant, explaining that she brought up the allegations in the past but was ignored, writing:

"“In 2004 I told hollywood executives, 2005-2006 I told press. In 2011 I spoke up again. Hope you can hear me now Media in 2017! Way to go."

At the time, Robin Antin slammed the allegations, calling Kaya Jones' claims "disgusting, ridiculous lies." She called Kaya a "Pussycat reject" who was looking for her "15 minutes of fame." As per an October 2024 Page Six article, group members, including lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, echoed the sentiments in a joint statement, which read:

"To liken our professional roles in The Pussycat Dolls to a prostitution ring not only undermines everything we worked hard to achieve for all those years but also takes the spotlight off the millions of victims who are speaking up and being heard loud and clear around the world."

It is to be noted that Diddy has no connection with the Pussycat Dolls, other than their 2006 collab, Come to Me.

The Pussycat Dolls (disbanded in 2010) have not publicly reacted to the recent development yet.
