Lady Gaga recently had an interview with Vogue, along with fiancé Michael Polansky. The interview happened a day after the duo made their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival. In the interview, Gaga touched on many topics including her lovestory with Michael and also pop music.
During the interview, she further mentioned several female artists in the music industry, who have made their own mark, and explained how she wanted them to be happy. Lady Gaga took names of Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Kesha, and Taylor Swift too. She said,
"I mean, I really love them. I go on the internet and, like, cry. And I love Taylor Swift too. And Kesha. I watch it all, and I’m like: Yup. Go! Just Go."
Shortly after this, the 38-year-old singer got emotional, her voice cracked and she had tears in her eyes. She continued:
"I’m not only cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is in it with them. And I want them all to feel really happy."
For the unversed, Lady Gaga will be playing the character Harley Quinn in the upcoming movie Joker: Folie à Deux, which is scheduled to release on October 4, 2024, in the United States. Gaga and her fiancé's appearance at the film festival was the first major one for their movie's press tour.
Lady Gaga spoke about her relationship with Michael Polansky
After talking about other music artists who have been doing great in the industry, Lady Gaga couldn't help but mention her partner Michael Polansky. The singer revealed that they initially met through her mother Cynthia Germanotta, way back in 2019. The Bloody Mary singer revealed that her mother felt that they would go a long way as a couple.
In the interview, Gaga recalled:
"My mom met him, and she said to me, 'I think I just met your husband,' and I said, 'I'm not ready to meet my husband!' I could never have imagined that my mom… found the most perfect person for me?"
It was further revealed during the interview, that the couple quarantined together in Malibu, when COVID-19 hit. Michael Polansky, who was also present for the interview with Vogue along with Gaga, weighed in and said:
"We had this amazing chapter of a weird kind of normalcy that’s essential for any relationship to develop in a real way..."
Polansky added, that since Gaga was already extremely famous, the lockdown turned out well for them, since she got a chance to "slow down." Lady Gaga further expressed how grateful she felt that she wasn't alone during the pandemic.
Elsewhere in the interview, Gaga told Vogue more about her partner. According to her, Polansky was very smart and kind. She also described him as a "private person."
Vogue revealed that the couple got engaged back in April 2024. The singer kept complimenting her partner calling him a "real" friend who "wasn't afraid to truly hold her hand."
