Recently, a video of Sean “Diddy” Combs went viral on social media where he appeared to be assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway. The clip, dated March 5, 2016, was exclusively acquired by CNN amid the ongoing allegations against Diddy.
In response to the leaked video, comedian and actress Luenell made a statement saying that Black women were the most “disrespected” community in the society. She further added:
“If Diddy had smacked JLo like that, drag her down the hallway, he’d been in jail eight years ago.”
Meanwhile, Diddy himself has issued a public apology video addressing Cassie, stating he was “truly sorry.”
Luenell wants the Kim Porter case to be "reopened" in the wake of the latest Diddy video
Amid the recently released video of Diddy seemingly abusing his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel hallway in an incident that reportedly took place eight years ago, Luenell has shared her insights on social media.
She went on record to say that if Sean Combs was caught on camera assaulting Jennifer Lopez, he would have been in prison years ago. The comedian added:
“Y’all will believe when we say that Black women are the most disrespected, underserved, under-believed women in society.”
Luenell also claimed that if Diddy did the same to a “snow bunny” or a “white woman with blonde hair and blue eyes,” then also he would be in jail, but because Cassie was a woman of color, he was still living a life of freedom.
The 65-year-old further mentioned that showing support for women on TV “did not help things,” but rather urged people to “believe women when they tell you some sh*t the first time.”
The Arkansas native explained that women didn’t “report” assaults, because nobody ever believed them. Luenell claimed that Cassie got “involved” with Combs before she was an adult, which further made things difficult for her and “so much easier to walk away” for Combs and “not catch a case.”
She also made a shocking allegation that before the video was “leaked,” somebody, including Cassie’s mother, must have known something, but may have “sold her children out.”
She also demanded that the Kim Porter (one of Diddy’s late former girlfriends) case be “reopened” and Diddy be prosecuted for the latest “thing on film” despite the statute of limitations.
Luenell further alleged that Sean Combs must have paid out the “employees” who were in charge of the “security tapes” of the hotel, yet it somehow got leaked.
“I feel so bad for Cassie. She’s married now, she got children, she’s living her life, but she’s like, ‘I’m gonna go stand up, if this sh*t is going to go down,’” the Block Party actress continued.
Luenell wrapped up by asking why women weren’t “loved” anymore, and why society was “broken.” She also urged women to not tolerate abuse of any kind and speak up, while asking men “to leave women alone.”
In brief, looking at the leaked hotel video
Last week, a security tape from a hotel hallway, dated March 5, 2016, was leaked on the internet, showing Diddy and one of his accusers, Cassie.
In the video, Sean Combs appeared to be shoving Casandra Ventura to the ground near an elevator, kicking her a few times, and then dragging her down the hallway, as she tried to lay still.
In the wake of this CNN-obtained clip, Sean Combs took to his Instagram and issued an apology on May 19.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f*cked up, I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he mentioned.
He added how “disgusted” he was to see himself behave the way he did, and claimed to have sought “professional help” to deal with his issues.
Cassie first accused the hip-hop mogul of assault in a lawsuit last November which has ever since been settled.
