Music producer Gordo said in an exclusive statement to People magazine that Drake had moved past his beef with Kendrick Lamar. The two musicians battled it out for weeks after Drake and J. Cole released First Person Shooter. Netizens have since taken to the internet to respond to Gordo’s statement.
Gordo revealed on July 24, 2024, that Drake was “past it,” while referring to the rap beef. The former explained that the rapper was on his longest tour ever (It’s All A Blur Tour—Big As The What?) subsequently leading to him “just chilling.”
Despite many believing that Drake was not in a chipper mood after the beef with Kendrick Lamar, Gordo opined that was the furthest from reality. He said,
“Ever since all this has happened… I’ve seen him happier. It’s really weird. He’s pretty jolly… The internet makes it seem like, ‘oh, that photo, he’s all sad and sh*t.’ That’s just a bad photo from a bad camera. But because it’s him, it’s put under a magnifying glass like, ‘Oh, look at his eyes. He’s looking a little droopy. He hasn’t slept.’ But the guy’s been happy as s**t to be honest. He’s chilling.”
Gordo was likely referring to the viral picture of Drizzy that was taken at Michael Rubin’s recent All White Party. The singer went viral after many found Drake looking less upbeat than normal.
It appeared as if not many believed Gordo’s claims. Several netizens continued to diss the Canadian rapper online. Some comments online read,

Gordo is best known in the EDM and house music scenes. His tracks have become music festival essentials in recent years. Not only is he collaborating with Drake on his upcoming Diamante album, but the duo also worked on For All The Dogs album's Rich Baby Daddy and Gently.
As the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake had just begun, Gordo stated the rapper had to keep an eye out as there were “a lot of snakes out there.” He said,
“A lot of people who have just been waiting for the opportunity to say something, and when you cut the grass, you see the snakes. We saw a lot of that, and that's just how it is. That's how life is. I deal with it every day. He deals with it, everyone else deals with it. We just got to keep it pushing and create distance.”
Gordo’s Diamante album will be available on all streaming platforms on July 26, 2024.
