Camila Cabello recently addressed Kendrick Lamar and Drake's dispute from earlier this year. While the beef started a long time ago, it took a different turn after the rappers started releasing diss tracks, with Lamar's song Not Like Us taking the first position on the US Billboard Hot 100.

During her latest interview with The Times on June 27, 2024, Cabello addressed the beef by taking Drake's side.

“He is such a delight. It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative. You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”

Notably, Drake has been trending in the headlines for some time after it was revealed that he would be a part of Camila Cabello's new album, C, XOXO. He was confirmed to have being featured on the tracks titled Uuugly and Hot Uptown.

Camila Cabello shares how she convinced Drake to appear on her album

The Havana singer revealed more details on how Drake became a part of her latest project. The singer got in touch with the latter through social media but was unsure if she would get a response. She said that her assumption turned out to be wrong.

Camila Cabello stated that the reason behind sending a message to Drake was that she had never attended parties where the guests were mostly artists. She added that she mostly goes out with her friends and family members and continued:

"I guess because I started out so young, I just naturally rebelled against that life, and the performative aspects that come with it."

Furthermore, Cabello addressed her battle with obsessive-compulsive disorder, saying that she discovered the "right therapist and the right medication." She said that her condition did not have any impact on her work.

She even opened up about her childhood, saying that her "extended family" played an important role in her life when she was in Cuba.

"My mum will be, like, 'Well, since you were little you'd be in Cuba with your cousins and your grandparents, and then all of a sudden you'd be in Mexico and you'd spend a week crying."

Camila Cabello's latest album has received a mixed response

The Cinderella star's most-awaited album, C, XOXO, came out on Friday, June 28. Compared to her previous projects that were well-received by critics, the response has been mixed towards her fourth album, which features 14 tracks. In her latest conversation with Complex, she spoke up about how her new album is different from the rest and said:

"I feel like the inauthentic thing to do would be to give the public what you know is gonna work for you, or what they're already expecting from you. That's the easy way to keep going like, 'Oh, you like 'Havana', I'll give you five more of those."

Camila Cabello has written the lyrics for most of the songs in the album. In an interview with influencer Taylen Biggs, Cabello shared that Taylor Swift was the person who inspired her for the same. She recalled when she met Swift at the age of around 16 or 17 and continued:

"I see her and Lorde sitting together. I'm, like, 'Oh my god, that's Taylor Swift. I have to go up to both of them, and I have to tell them I love them.' They were both so sweet."

The 27-year-old's third album was Familia, which grabbed the 10th spot on the US Billboard 200 and remained on top of other charts for a long time in 2022.
