Pop singer Sabrina Carpenter recently revealed why she "can't post" her Spotify Wrapped's top artist of the year result online. In an interview with Vogue, published on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, the singer was questioned about her Wrapped list, to which she revealed:

“It’s funny because when I first saw mine, my initial reaction was, 'Oh, damn, I can’t post that, because I’m on my own (list). It’s a bit conceited.'”

Carpenter continued:

“Then I was like, I guess it’s a good thing that I’m on my list and listening to my own music, because it means I f*ck with what I do. But the other ones were Dolly Parton, ABBA, Kacey Musgraves and the Bee Gees.”

As news of the development went viral, internet users were quick to praise the singer for listening to her own songs. One user responded to PopCrave's tweet about the same and wrote:

Many remarked that all singers should like the music they make.

"well if i made songs that good i’d be my top artist too," a user remarked.
"i think it's so cool when this happens. it should be that way tbh. if your own music isn't perfectly suited to your taste what music will be," another commented.
"So much respect for that because if you don’t listen to your own music why should I," one questioned.

Netizens continued to gush about Sabrina Carpenter's Wrapped list.

"queen behavior," a fan stated.
"sabrina listening to the bee gees just proves i love the right singer," one wrote.
"now that’s ICONIC behavior when you’re on own spotify wrapped!! i swear sabrina just becomes more and more iconic!" another added.

Singles from the album Espresso and Please Please Please both topped Billboard's Global 200 chart. Additionally, all twelve songs from the album made the Hot 100 list. Espresso was also the most-streamed song of 2024 on Spotify, with more than 1.6 billion streams, with Short N' Sweet being the third-most popular album.

The album was nominated for eight awards at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year. Carpenter is one of fifteen artists who have earned a Grammy nomination in all four general field categories (Best Album, Song, Record, and New Artist) in one night.

Sabrina Carpenter embarked on the Short n' Sweet Tour in support of the project in September. This was her fifth concert tour and first arena tour. She is currently on a break after finishing its North American leg in November. Carpenter would be back on the road in March.

According to an article by the Independent, during her shows, the singer does a "spin the bottle" game to decide on a surprise cover song to play at the show. This included ABBA’s Mamma Mia and Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 (both artists were Carpenter's top artists on Wrapped).

Sabrina Carpenter's new Netflix holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas, is currently streaming on the platform.
