Bryan "Birdman" Williams faced criticism on social media after his recent visit to Orleans Parish Prison. During his visit, he spoke to the inmates, but a video of his remarks was not well-received by the public. The video showed a large group of inmates sitting in front of Birdman, making various requests to him.

While the 55-year-old said that he has "enough power" to fulfill the things they ask for, one of them told him:

"We need insde help as far as literature, for these guys having books to read."

However, the record executive responded by saying:

"If you think reading books is gonna help…no disrespect to reading books."

While the video went viral on social media, netizens gave negative feedback to the statement made by Birdman, also known as Bryan Christopher Williams. One of them wrote that books are one of the most valuable assets that can be provided inside prison and Bryan refused to offer the same. A reaction also reads:

"Ignorance has not age limit."

Another person claimed that Bryan himself cannot read. There was a reaction from an individual who claimed that he had been to prison and books helped him.

NBA YoungBoy refers to Birdman in his new single: Lyrics and other details explained

Birdman has been trending in the headlines after NBA YoungBoy released his latest track, Tears of War, on June 9, 2024. The rapper, who is currently in prison, referred to Bryan and Lil Wayne in the lyrics which stated:

"Knew that Stunna never loved me, should've listened to Carter/ Who wanna do somethin' with the Five? They know I put sh*t in order."

Notably, Wayne had once referred to YoungBoy in a 2020 single titled Multiple Flows. Lil had a warning for YoungBoy in the track, telling him to never trust Bryan.

YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has spoken about his friendship with Birdman in the past. On the Rap Radar podcast last year, he mentioned that Birdman "talks a lot of sh*t," which he appreciates.

They collaborated on the mixtape From the Bayou, released in 2021. Birdman praised YoungBoy in a conversation with Billboard the following year, noting his similarities with Wayne. He added:

"I was once somebody like him and had to gamble my life. I wanted to show him that he could really survive off his talent. You could go to jail, or you could die, or you could try to be somebody."

Although YoungBoy mentioned Bryan in his new single, the New Orleans, Louisiana native has yet to respond to the same.
