Taurus Tremani Bartlett, a.k.a. Polo G, recently addressed a viral incident involving his mother and sister. During his appearance on the Breakfast Club podcast on Monday, August 5, 2024, the rapper discussed his family and his relationship with his mother, Stacia Mac.
When questioned if he intervenes in case a family squabble spills over on the internet, noting the recent viral video of Stacia shooting at his sister Leilani Capalot, the Rapstar hitmaker replied:
"For sure Imma always intervene. It's like I dont want to see no sh*t like that... you know... Imma always try to get in between before it get too far."
This prompted co-host Charlamagne tha God to quip:
"What do you mean too far. They was fighting and shooting at each (other)... (That said) this is Chicago (referring to the city's rampant gun violence)."
When asked by the co-host if such conflicts can be worked out, the rapper responded by saying, that every family goes through conflicts and that he was going to help his mother and sister work out their problems.
On June 21, a clip showing Polo G's mother shooting at his sister began circulating online
In his interview, Polo G explained that despite the differences, they are family, and they can work through their issues. He explained:
"We family. I feel like 'cause of who I am that it's just being broadcasted more and everybody gonna talk about it. But every family goes through sh*t like that."
The rapper joked he was accustomed to it.
On June 21, a clip of Polo G's mother shooting at his sister surfaced on social media. The video showed an agitated and upset Stacia charging out of her mansion with a gun in her hand, yelling:
"Get off my sh*t. You tough b*tch? You tough b*tch?"
The clip showed Mac walking towards her daughter before shots could be heard. This was followed by screaming, which many believe was Capalot shouting. Mac was then seen walking back into her home.
It remains unclear when the incident actually took place. However, per a June 2024 report by TMZ citing court documents, Mac filed for a domestic violence restraining order against her daughter. The papers indicated that trouble between them began in April 2024.
Just hours after the footage went viral, Polo G's mom took to Instagram to explain her side of the story. Mac claimed that an intoxicated Leilani "attacked" her, adding that she was having a "manic episode."
Mac explained that Leilani had been struggling with substance abuse and refusing help for the past two years. She alleged that she just fired "warning shots" to get her daughter off her property.
Polo G's sister, for her part, took to Instagram to claim her mother just wanted to be a thug and was jealous of her (Leilani). She claimed Stacia consistently provoked her, leading to her manic episode. In her stories, Capalot dated the incident to the day of Easter.
Polo G was promoting his upcoming album Hood Poet on Breakfast Club. It is scheduled to drop on Friday, August 9.
