Oasis fans were left annoyed and frustrated after they had to wait for a long time on Ticketmaster while trying to purchase tickets for the band's reunion tour. In a recent announcement, the band confirmed that the tour will happen in 2025 in the summer, and estranged brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher would be performing together after about 16 years.
While fans got extremely excited upon getting the news, they faced immense frustration when they had to wait in long online queues even to get to the main queues. NME added that the tickets had been in massive demand.
Meanwhile, netizens have taken to social media platforms to express their reactions to these long queues.
Several potential ticket buyers also claimed that they were reportedly suspended from the Ticketmaster platform. Additionally, some claimed that the platform had allegedly crashed several times even before the tickets sale began, however, Ticketmaster denied it.
Many people also questioned the high prices on the platform Here are some of the responses made on X, formerly known as Twitter:
Another netizen tweeted:
"It’s ironic, isn’t it? The very platform that enforces face value policies ends up being the biggest culprit."
"The issue is that Ticketmaster can set the face value at whatever they want if the demand is there," wrote another user.
"This is the new Ticketmaster. Surge pricing. The more demand, the more they increase the standard price as it’s their belief that REAL fans will pay the price..." added a tweet.
Several other artists bashed the platform for the expensive prices of the tickets. A netizen tweeted:
"415 for a standing ticket... Absolutely disgusting. Beyond disgusting."
"I hate that they’re allowed to do ‘dynamic pricing’ it’s just @TicketmasterUK scamming people out of money," added another user.
"The dynamic price goes to the artist and the team. Blame them," said a user claiming that it's the artist who would decide the prices.
Everything to know about the Oasis ticket mess on the Ticketmaster platform
As mentioned, Oasis had announced their reunion tour, from July 4 to August 17, 2025. Thus following the announcement, fans visited the Ticketmaster website to buy the tickets for the upcoming tour. However, the process didn't go as seemingly as the fans expected. While many complained of constant crashes on the website, many shed light on the long queues.
Tickets for the Oasis show to be held in Dublin, were put on sale on Saturday, August 31, 2024. As per Manchester Evening News, at one point after the tickets went live, over 50,000 fans were in the queue for the tickets. Considering the massive delays in the ticket purchasing process, Ticketmaster further issued a statement through NME. They mentioned:
"The queue is moving along as fans buy tickets. As anticipated, millions of fans are accessing our site so have been placed in a queue. Fans are advised to hold their place in line, making sure they’re only using one tab, clear cookings, and ensure they aren’t using VPN software on their device."
The platform further claimed that the queue was moving forward as buyers were checking out after they were done purchasing tickets.
The Oasis tour will comprise 17 shows and will cover venues like Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Dublin’s Croke Park, and Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium.
