On January 10, 2024, rapper Kanye West took to Instagram to post a one-minute-long black-and-white trailer of Vultures: The Movie. While no specific plot or characters are defined in the trailer, words like "Thrilling,” “Chilling,” “Sensoramic,” and “Vulgar” appear on the screen accompanied by random visuals. Moreover, the trailer features the theme song of The Blues Brothers.
Internet users speculate that the trailer is AI-fueled, given it features versions of Ty Dolla Sign, Kanye, and collaborators of the Vulture album, Rich The Kid, Kodak Black, and Playboi Carti firing guns at various points. However, Ye hasn't confirmed the use of AI in the minute-long snippet.
Fans of the rapper were quick to take to X to express their opinions on Vultures: The Movie wherein one user referred to Ye's ex-chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, alleging the rapper was addicted to nitrous gas, tweeted:
"Is he back on the nitrous?"
"Kanye is definitely on that laughing gas," an X user commented.
"Is this what Nitrous-Oxide abuse feels like?" another X user mentioned.
Netizens also called out Ye for allegedly using AI in the trailer.
"Kanye got hold of an Text-to-Video AI Generator and never looked back!" an internet user stated.
"He couldn't even finish the second album, now he's gonna make an AI slop "movie"? This loser's fall off actually needs to be studied," another internet user said.
"One of the greatest creative minds is using Ai now . WE ARE COOKED," an X user tweeted.
Additionally, some internet users expressed that they were done with the rapper's Vultures series.
"We don't want anything with Vultures. We want BULLY," a netizen commented.
"I thought we were done with the vultures era," another netizen mentioned.
French singer claims sample used in Kanye's reportedly leaked Bully snippet is unauthorized
Kanye West announced his upcoming solo album, Bully, during his performance in China in September 2024 and also played a song from the album called BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. However, in January 2025, a now-deleted snippet started doing rounds on the internet featuring a sneak peek of the album's soundtrack.
At the end of the 30-second video, Ye realizes he's being recorded and tells the person recording to cut the video. While the rapper hasn't commented on whether the leaked snippet is a part of Bully or is authentic, French singer Claire Pommet took to Instagram on January 6, 2025, to claim that the sample on Ye's allegedly leaked Bully snippet was hers.
In her post, the singer who goes by the stage name Pomme said that she wanted to clarify a situation concerning the potential use of her track soleil soleil on Kanye's upcoming project. Pomme mentioned:
“I do not know the source of the video and audio content that is circulating these days on social media, but i have never given my consent for the use of this sample for reasons that seem obvious to me, being in deep disagreement with the political positions of this artist that i have nevertheless admired in the past.”
She continued:
“It is sometimes difficult to give up on certain opportunities but i try to stay true to what i believe in.”
According to a report by XXL Magazine dated January 6, 2025, journalist Touré reported that Kanye West worked on Bully by himself and that it is a "concept album." The journalist mentioned that Ye reportedly worked on the album in a hotel in Tokyo because he can be who he wants to be in the city.
