Is Britney Spears married again? Singer's Instagram post about the "the most brilliant thing" she has done explained

On Sunday, Britney Spears took to Instagram and reshared a video from December 2022, in which she was wearing a white satin dress with a veil decorated with lace trim. In the caption of the post, Britney wrote:

"The day I married myself... Bringing it back because it might seem embarrassing or stupid, but I think it's the most brilliant thing I've ever done!!!"

It is unclear, how and when this union happened, however, as per her caption Britney appeared to consider this as the "most brilliant thing." This clip made it to social media about a week after she shared a photo on her feed wearing the same white dress. In the caption of the previous post, Britney Spears wrote:

"A month after I got married on this day, I married myself!!! Things that make you go HMMMMMM..."

About a year ago, Britney divorced her now former husband, Iranian-American model Sam Asghari. As for the popstar's current love, she is reportedly romantically involved with on-off boyfriend Paul Soliz.

As of now, Britney has been married thrice. She also has two children whom she shared with her second husband Kevin Federline. No further information about a recent marriage involving Britney has been confirmed yet.

In 2004, the popstar made it to the headlines after she married Jason Allen Alexander in Las Vegas. The wedding, however, was annulled about 55 hours later. In her memoir The Woman in Me, she spoke about this wedding and mentioned:

"I don’t even remember that night at all, but from what I’ve pieced together, he and I lounged around the hotel room and stayed up late watching movies..."

They then had the idea of getting hitched, soon after which they went to A Little White Chapel. After the marriage ended, Britney then got involved with Kevin Federline, an American actor and DJ.

Federline and Spears had a marriage that lasted for about two years from September 2004 to November 2006, when the popstar filed for divorce. During the process, the popstar also asked for physical and legal custody of her children. The sole custody, however, went to Federline who also had to receive $20,000 from Britney every month as child support.

After the former couple ended their relationship, Britney Spears met her third husband Sam Asghari. The former couple got engaged in September 2021, before marrying in 2022. They reportedly signed a prenup in order to protect Britney's assets.

The former couple decided to separate and Sam filed for divorce in July 2023. This year, in May, they reached a divorce settlement as well. They will reportedly be divorced in December 2024. Britney Spears even addressed her divorce with Sam on social media, and wrote:

"As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because it’s honestly nobody’s business !!!"

Sam too took to social media and explained that they would "hold onto the love and respect" for each other. As for the current posts by Britney Spears, no clear explanation has been provided yet.
