The clip of the rapper mentioning Thug had gone viral on the internet. He was heard saying the phrase "Free Young Thug" while singing the 2016 track. After the clip became popular on social media, netizens reacted to it. Here are some of the online responses:

"They are close friends."
Many artists apart from Quavo had also called for freeing Young Thug who is in the middle of an ongoing trial
Quavo wasn't the only one to voice support for the rapper, who is currently detained and facing a trial. Several others, like Meek Mill and Adin Ross, have extended support to Young Thug. In his latest live stream with former President Donald Trump, Adin Ross referred to the case to which Trump stated that he'd look into the matter if he won the election. The former President added:
"I've heard about him and I've heard he's being treated very unfairly by her [Fani Willis] and I would tell her she's gotta treat these patriots that are being all-- it's terrible. They're going after them... He's gotta be treated fairly."
Meek Mill later reshared this portion of the interview with Ross and tweeted:
"Free Jeffrey... A loving man that put on a lot of people on in atl and created millions for a bunch of families from nothing!"
Quavo's reaction on the stage received mixed responses. While some agreed with him and applauded, others questioned him based on his previous statements about gun control advocacy.
Last month, The Express Tribune reported that the rapper was present at a rally for Kamala Harris. In the rally, he spoke of Takeoff, his nephew and fellow Migos bandmate, who was allegedly shot to death in 2022, and that those who committed gun violence should be held accountable.
