Popular musician Elijah Blue Allman, and his mother, Cher, recently attended a private mediation on May 7, 2024, where both of them agreed to suspend conservatorship temporarily in private mediation. As per People Magazine, the documents submitted in the court mentioned:

“Both parties agree to pause all legal proceedings and related activities, including all discovery and motion practice, to allow the Parties to continue working together to privately and confidentially resolve this matter.”

The fiasco started when the If I Could Run Back in Time singer requested conservatorship over her son, and a judge denied it in Los Angeles. The conservatorship was filed because of his alleged substance abuse issues. However, in January 2024, the judge rejected the request and stated that Elijah Blue Allman’s conservatorship was not urgently required.

However, the singer mentioned at the time that her son needed to enter conservatorship as a lot of money from his father, Gregg Allman was pending, which Elijah could use for his substance abuse issues.

As Cher and her son attended the private mediation, ET reported that during the session, she once again argued that the sizeable sum of money could lead him back towards drugs.

Elijah Blue Allman’s attorneys previously stated that Cher was “unfit to serve” as a conservator

Months after Cher filed for conservatorship for her son, Elijah Blue Allman, as she stated he is “substantially unable to manage his financial resources,” the two entered mediation on May 7, 2024, and agreed to pause it for a temporary period, as Elijah’s attorney stated she was “unfit to serve” as his conservator.

However, during the mediation, the singer's lawyers stated Elijah was subject to several hours of psychiatric hospitalization last year because of his disorders allegedly caused by substance abuse. As per People Magazine, the lawyers stated:

“Cher was told by doctors that if she did not take this step as his mother he will once again end up on the street.”

However, the judges ruled Allman had his finances sorted, as he owned an apartment, and had remained free of drugs for a substantial period. Hence, the judge stated Cher did not have “sufficient evidence” to enter conservatorship.

“That in and of itself is not a basis for the court to appoint a probate conservatorship. I have not seen the evidence to grant a temporary, emergency conservatorship as of today.”

On the other hand, a similar hearing took place last month, where Elijah argued he did not want his mother to be his conservator, and stated that if at all a conservator is required, he would want his wife, Marieangela “Queeny” King to be the same.

"I understand that a conservatorship is appropriate for a person who is substantially unable to manage his own financial resources or resist fraud or undue influence. I am and have been capable of managing my own financial resources and resisting fraud and undue influence. I do not need a conservatorship.”

While the conservatorship has been paused at the moment, the next hearing was scheduled for June 11. However, it has now been moved to September 13, 2024, as the judge requested the mother and son to fix things internally before the next hearing. At the moment, neither Cher nor her son has commented on the ordeal.
