Randy Jackson recently got dragged into the drama involving Janet Jackson and Vice President Kamala Harris. In an article published by Daily Beast on September 22, an individual who claimed to be the former manager of Janet told the publication that he was fired by the singer and her brother Randy.

It was later confirmed by Variety that the man, identified as Mo Elmasri, wasn't managing Janet. He had also claimed to have had disagreements with the duo over an article by The Guardian in which Janet Jackson had made some controversial remarks about Harris. Elmasri told the outlet:

"Janet Jackson fired me due to disagreements between me, her, and Randy, after her meeting with The Guardian and her unbalanced statements."

While Elmasri declined to provide further details to the news outlet, he extended support to Harris. The drama was highlighted primarily when he reportedly issued an apology on behalf of Janet without her authorization. Elmasri issued the apology after Janet was scrutinized on the internet for her comments about Kamala Harris.

For the unversed, Randy Jackson is Michael Jackson's younger brother and the second youngest of the nine Jackson siblings. He had also been a part of The Jackson 5 officially from 1975 to 1989. Born in 1961, he joined the group after his brother Jermaine left it. Randy Jackson also received a Grammy nomination back in 1989 for his work in the studio album titled Triumph.

Everything to know about American musician Randy Jackson, who is also Michael Jackson's younger brother

Randy Jackson was the ninth child to be born in the Jackson's family. Randy wasn't originally a part of their pop band, and first played with them only in 1971. Since 1972, he had been present in all the tours conducted by the band. However, Randy officially became a part of it in 1975. According to Randy's official website:

"Randy quickly became an integral part of the group with his wide range of musical talents in songwriting as well as being accomplished in many instruments."

After the band disbanded, the members began focusing on individual projects, back in 1990. That was when Randy formed his own band named Randy & the Gypsys. They officially dropped only one album before splitting. Then in 1998, Randy opened up his new record label: Modern Records.

It had further been reported that currently, he is the co-partner at Rhythm Nation Records, along with Janet Jackson. The record label is independently owned by Janet, who is the youngest sibling in the Jackson family.

Over the years, Randy Jackson had also found himself involved in a number of legal situations. In January 1991, he faced battery charges after being accused of hitting his wife Eliza Shaffy and their then 7-month-old daughter Stevanna. He then pleaded a no contest to the charge.

In November, the same year, he was arrested again after Eliza complained that the abuse had not stopped. Then in 1996, he filed for bankruptcy and was ordered to surrender his shares in his record label Modern Records.

Coming back to the current drama involving Janet and the individual who claims to be her former manager, it is worth noting that it is Randy who manages Janet and not anybody else.
