Eminem returned to the music scene on July 12 with The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), his first LP in 4 years since his 2020 album Music to Be Murdered By. The 19-track album was preceded by 2 singles, Houdini and Tobey featuring Big Sean and BabyTron.

In his new LP, Marshall Mathers name-dropped Caitlyn Jenner multiple times on various tracks. Jenner was previously married to Kris Jenner and the couple share two daughters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

Jenner's name being mentioned in many songs seemingly mystified his fans. One fan even tweeted:

More Slim Shady fans added to the commentary surrounding the continued usage of Caitlyn Jenner's name in his tracks, emphasizing that they did not care about her.

"Eminem shut the f**k about Caitlyn Jenner oh my god we don't care," one fan added.
"this eminem album is good so far, slim is definitely back, the production has been consistently nice, and there's been some great bars, but holy s**t his age is SHOWING. bringing up the same controversial shit from literally a decade ago. nobody cares about caitlyn jenner," one person said.
"Eminem thinking of all all the words he could rhyme with Caitlyn Jenner," another fan wrote.

Others complained about the rapper recycling the same material in all his songs.

"Six songs in the Eminem album and every single one so far has complained about cancel culture and made a Caitlyn Jenner reference," one person commented.
"Eminem album is actually very very boring i do not know how you make a slim shady centric concept album and the best punches you throw are all related to caitlyn jenner or saying the r word 1-2 decent songs, the rest are so f**king boring," another user added.
"Eminem just can't make good music anymore man. This s**t is sad. The Gen Z jokes could be funny but just end up lazy. A Christopher Reeves song? Cmon lol that reference is ancient. And Caitlyn Jenner should almost be credited with a feature with how bars were spent there," one netizen said.

Caitlyn Jenner is not the only celebrity referenced in The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce). The rapper also name-dropped Megan Thee Stallion and late Superman actor Christopher Reeve in several songs.

Eminem first name-dropped Caitlyn Jenner in 2015

Eminem first rapped about Caitlyn Jenner when he did a freestyle rap on Sway in the Morning in July 2015, just months after Jenner announced her transition. The lyrics read:

“I invented p**ck and that’s a true statement / I see the b***h in you, Caitlyn/ Keep the pistol tucked like Bruce Jenner’s d**k/ No disrespect, though, no, not at all. No pun intended, but that took a lot of balls.”

The rapper returned to mocking the media personality in his new album, name-dropping her in songs like Evil, Antichrist, Brand New Dance, Guilty Conscience 2, and Road Rage, sometimes referring to her as Caitlyn and other times calling her Bruce.

His most provocative lyrics about Jenner are in Habits, referring to her as 'Bruce' while also drawing parallels to his real name, Marshall Bruce Mathers. The lyrics read:

"But when it comes to givin' it to anybody, boy, is Bruce generous (Marshall)/ And I'm 'bout as much of boy as Bruce Jenner is (Damn)/ 'Cause I'm not a boy, I'm a man, b***h, man-b***h (Ha-ha)/ My speech is free as his choice to choose gender is (Man)/ This shit is like opioid abuse, isn't it?"

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is Marshall Mathers' 12th studio album. On July 11, the rapper took to social media to call it a "conceptual album" and urged his fans to listen to it in sequential tracklist order to understand it as a whole.
