Dame Dash was in the headlines after Diddy's arrest on September 16, 2024, when viral photos revealed that he reportedly attended a party organized by the rapper. Notably, a grand jury indictment included more details related to raids conducted at Diddy's houses in March this year, where authorities found items that were used in alleged s*x events called Freak-Offs.
The pictures featuring Dash show him seemingly posing in a bed alongside Jay-Z, Jennifer Lopez, Busta Rhymes, Aaliyah, and Diddy. The photos led to criticism towards all the artists, with social media users claiming they were possibly well aware of Diddy's behavior in the past.
Meanwhile, Dame Dash addressed the rumors of Jay-Z's appearance at Diddy's parties after he recently appeared in an interview with American Nu Network. A video of the conversation was even shared through the official page of The Art of Dialogue on X (formerly Twitter).
The record executive said that he does not feel good about the rumors that have emerged about Diddy. He added that he does not like to "celebrate the pain" of any person even if that individual deserves the same. He was also questioned on how he felt about the way Jay-Z's image was being portrayed in front of the public and said:
"You know to be honest, I really hope, the things that they are saying, like, terrible. I be like it's hard for me to think that any of those things could be true. I don't want them to be true. You know, they say they are going to pick him up next. I don't wanna see that man going to jail."
Speaking of Jay's possibility of being sent to prison, Dash said:
"It would be such another big blow for hip-hop."
Dame Dash has shared a close relationship with Jay-Z over the years as they collaborated to launch the record label, Roc-A-Fella Records. The company has worked with artists such as Memphis Bleak, Beanie Sigel, and Cam'ron.
Dame Dash responded to the viral photos reportedly featuring him at Diddy's party
As mentioned, a few pictures of Dash began trending online after Diddy's arrest earlier last month. The photos were allegedly captured at Diddy's party that was held on July 2, 2000, and Dash replied to the pictures as he appeared on Instagram Live on September 21, 2024.
Dame Dash specifically addressed Aaliyah, who was seen in the photos, saying that he met her on the day when the pictures were taken. He revealed that he and Aaliyah were hanging out at the place for some time and they left at one point. He added:
"And that's what happened. That was 20 years ago, that was not in LA or Miami. But I know they gon' play games with them pictures – It's cool. I don't really care."
Dame Dash even spoke up on the allegations against Diddy, stating that he discontinued attending the parties and continued:
"People will sit there and watch people do things that could be immoral, but until they get caught, nobody says anything. Whether it's illegal or immoral for me I just break out – I don't wait for people to get busted."
Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center and as per the latest updates, he is not on suicide watch anymore and has already visited his family. He would be taken to the court on October 9, 2024.
