Young Dabo, a streamer who shared the Rolling Loud stage with Playboi Carti on Sunday, December 15, 2024, has gained prominence over social media. On Thursday, December 19, an X user named @Kurrco shared a short video clip of Dabo from a live stream, where the 17-year-old streamer told his viewers:
"Hi, chat. Bro, there's been so many f**king b**ches that said they're proud of me and I never even met [them]. It was the b**ches that used to dump me at school, bro. All the hoes are like, 'Oh my God devil, I'm so proud of you,' and I'm like, 'B**ch I don't even know you'."
The tweet also had a picture of Young Dabo and Playboi Carti on the stage attached to it.
Dabo is a content creator and YouTuber with over 600,000 followers, who uploads reaction videos to popular hip-hop music and artists. His first video that went viral in 2022 was a reaction to Frank Ocean's Blonde, garnering over 3 million views on YouTube.
Dabo is also a massive fan of Playboi Carti, evident from his YouTube bio, which says, "I love carti." Before bringing Dabo out on Rolling Loud's stage, Carti had also given the 17-year-old a shoutout on YouTube last December for his reaction video on UR THE MOON - a surprise release by the Magnolia rapper.
Playboi Carti previewed new music on the Rolling Loud stage
Besides bringing out Young Dabo on stage, Playboi Carti also previewed new music at Miami's Rolling Loud on Sunday. His setlist for the Florida festival included five unreleased songs that will be released as part of Carti's much-awaited album, I AM MUSIC.
According to HotNewHipHop, while four out of the five tracks remained unnamed, his closing track was the fifth unreleased track, Drugs Got Me Numb. One of the unreleased songs was a collab with The Weeknd.
Despite the unreleased songs being dropped, Carti is yet to announce a release date for I AM MUSIC. The album has now become one of the most-awaited works of the King Vamp rapper.
Carti first talked about his third studio album three months after the release of Whole Lotta Red in March 2021. By August of that year, the Opium founder dropped the title of his upcoming album as Narcissist, setting September 13 as its release date. However, the drop never came to be.
In April 2022, Playboi Carti told XXL that he had changed the title of his upcoming album to Music in an interview, without any mention of its release date.
More than a year later, Carti described the album as his most important work in a Numbero Berlin interview published in November 2023. Carti also revealed that a large part of his album was recorded in a cave-like studio in Paris, where he spent three months immersed in the creative process.
Throughout 2024, the Punk Monk rapper has continued to tease fans with snippets of new materials in his live performances. The Lyrical Lemonade Summer Festival heard snippets from All Red and F**k on My DJ. On November 22, Carti dropped a track titled Play This on the Instagram handle of his record label, followed by the announcement of new music being dropped on his Rolling Loud set five days later.
On December 15, Playboi Carti also paid tribute to Rolling Loud's tenth anniversary, with Tariq Sharif later sharing that Playboi Carti has been a part of all Rolling Loud festivals except for the one that took place in Thailand earlier this year.
