Jelly Roll made an appearance on Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Monday, September 30, and performed Lonely Road with Machine Gun Kelly. It is worth noting that the track has borrowed its melody from John Denver's popular song Take Me Home Country Roads.

Shortly after the performance, a woman whose name appeared to be Karen took to X and shared a tweet that caught Jelly's attention. The tweet said:

"How long will it take for @JellyRoll615 and @machinegunkelly to get sued for their song Lonely Road sounding exactly like Country Road, Take Me Home by John Denver?"

39-year-old Jelly Roll didn't hesitate to respond to her remark and clarified the concern. He replied through a tweet that read:

"We cleared it with the John Denver estate - they love our interpolation of the song. I appreciate your legal advice though Karen."

This brief conversation made netizens rush to the social media platform to react to it. A user wrote:

One user remarked about how they would not have been so nice to the woman who made the original tweet:

"Kind response Jelly, I guess I'm not as nice as you 😂🤣😂."
"They thought yall did this without permission 😂😂😂😂," added another user.
"Hahahaha! Karen’s pissed," commented a netizen.

Notably, the term "Karen" has become a popular internet label for a woman, who is seen as entitled, demanding, or prone to making complaints, especially in public situations.

Numerous users on X described her as a "Karen," while another pointed out her reaction, noting her first instinct was to consider a lawsuit.

"She's a Karen indeed...." a user wrote on X.
"No shot her name is actually Karen," explained another X user.
"Her first thought was a lawsuit. Yea this isn’t a fun and joyful individual," read another comment.

John Denver's Take Me Home Country Roads was a hit song in 1971. Lonely Road, by MGK and Jelly Road, was released in July 2024 and has made its place on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The original songwriters were also involved in the making of Lonely Road.

During the People's Choice Country Awards, Machine Gun Kelly expressed his gratitude to John Denver's family for their support in this latest track.

Travis Barker joined MGK and Jelly Roll while they were performing Lonely Road on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon

Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll presented the hit track Lonely Road on the American chat show earlier this week. Along with MGK and Roll, Travis Barker was also present when the duo was performing the track.

Shortly after, Kelly called Barker on the stage before shifting to his rap verse. The performance ended with Jelly Roll expressing his gratitude towards Jimmy Fallon and the audience.

Jelly Roll and MGK had reportedly made amends and ended their feud when they decided to work together on the project. The former spoke about the same and told Fallon:

"I just love him to death. We’ve known each other a long time and we started on rocky roads and made amends."
