Fans have reacted to Kesha's latest X post after Katy Perry announced the release of a new single, Woman's World. The number is set to release on July 11 and is allegedly produced by Dr Luke, who has been involved in a lawsuit with Kesha for years.

On June 17, Katy Perry announced her upcoming single, Women's World, on social media. A few hours after her announcement, Kesha posted "lol" on X, apparently in response to Perry's upcoming single being produced by Dr Luke.

Fans were quick to react to the TikTok singer's post, with many wondering if it was a dig at Katy Perry. Some users, assuming the response was directed at Perry, advised her to move on, although others supported her and trolled Perry for allegedly involving Luke in her production.

"Girl move on lol" another agreed.
"you will never have a teenage dream" another said.
"how katy leak making more noise than your last album 💿" a user wrote.

However, many users were also supportive of Kesha, and some threw shade at Perry, supposedly in agreement with the Tik Tok singer.

"like this if katy tanked and is going to hell no one will know" one added.
"we stand with you 🫶🏻" one user wrote in support.
"you’re telling me katy “i don’t call myself a feminist” perry is being a pick-me freak yet again?" another wrote.

Kesha and Dr. Luke have been involved in a barrage of lawsuits and countersuits for over a decade since the pop star accused him of allegedly drugging and raping her back in 2014. The pop star claimed that Luke sexually harassed her in 2005 and psychologically abused her during their professional relationship.

As per court documents released in 2018, Kesha and Lady Gaga exchanged text messages about Katy Perry. In several text messages dating back to February 2016, the Tik Tok singer claimed that Dr Luke r*ped Katy Perry. However, Perry had already denied such allegations in a sworn deposition back in 2017.

In the alleged leaked text messages, Kesha told Gaga that she was upset with Katy and that she was also assaulted by the same man, supposedly referring to Dr Luke. In a text from February 26, 2016, she wrote:

"I’m really upset with Katy Perry. She could bring the whole thing to a head but she won’t. She was r*ped by the same man."

At one point in the texts, Gaga asked if Kesha had spoken to Katy about it. The text read:

"U are really strong standing up to him, she’s not as strong as u yet. Have u talked to her?”

In response, the singer said it was hard for her to find empathy for Perry as she is "mean." She wrote:

“You're right. I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. she’s so mean. it’s hard.”

In further texts, Gaga offered to speak to Perry herself although she claimed she is not "friendly" with the singer. In her June 2017 deposition, Perry reacted to Kesha and Gaga's texts and clarified why she avoided taking sides in the Dr Luke case.

Perry mentioned that she knew both parties well, and it was hard for her to take sides. The Teenage Dream singer also added that she was "annoyed" by the way Gaga and Kesha pulled her into it through the text messages. She said in her deposition:

“I also knew both of them and a lot of people did not. So it was easy for them to be disattached and support an idea rather than an actual instance.”

Perry also expressed dissatisfaction towards Dr Luke in her 2017 deposition, claiming that the producer used her "as a pawn" to get some truth. However, she still denied the allegations of Luke assaulting her, as the Tik Tok singer claimed in her leaked messages.

“Because when I say that I wasn’t r*ped, because I was not, that means that someone’s lying … And I want to stay out of it because I know them both and I empathize with both of them and obviously it’s a horrible situation for both of them."

She added,

"And the only two people that know what really went on are those two people. But Luke was using me as a pawn because it’s a good play, to get some more truth.”

Lady Gaga broke her silence soon after the texts were leaked. She took to X to clarify that the leaked texts were old and she and Katy Perry have been friends since.

Although Perry mentioned that she was disappointed with Dr. Luke back in 2017, Genius.com has revealed that her upcoming single, Women's World, is allegedly produced by him. Perry is yet to confirm the same, but the internet has concluded that Kesha's latest "lol" post was made in reference to Perry's new single.
