However, just as news that she will sing at Trump's inauguration came out, many netizens shared their disappointment with the singer. A Reddit user thought that it was "disheartening" to see Underwood seemingly supporting Trump with her decision to sing at his inauguration.

More netizens shared their comments about being disheartened and disappointed with Carrie Underwood aligning herself with Donald Trump, although they also pointed out that it wasn't a surprising move from the singer.

"As someone who has seen Carrie Underwood 5 times and who keeps a picture of my deceased dad with Carrie at a meet & greet on my desk at work, this is quite disheartening," a Reddit user wrote.

Carrie Underwood is confirmed to perform the American patriotic song America the Beautiful written by poet and writer Katharine Lee Bates at Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20 in Washington, DC. The Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club will reportedly accompany her during the performance, per Variety.

Associated Press also confirmed other performers for next week's events, per the schedule released by the committee planning Trump's inaugural ceremonies on Monday. Two of Trump's favorites, opera singer Christopher Macchio and country singer Lee Greenwood, will reportedly perform at next week's events.

Greenwood was Trump's choice to perform as he walks out to take the oath. Meanwhile, Macchio, who performed at the Republican National Convention in July and at Trump's return rally in Pennsylvania in October last year, will be singing the National Anthem at the tail-end of the inaugural program.
