On Sunday, September 22, fans noticed that all of Usher's X posts, replies, and media had disappeared from his page. Words soon circulated around social media with many connecting the timing of the singer's supposed decision to Diddy's arrest last Monday, September 16.

Due to his close ties with Diddy, the DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love hitmaker has been under public scrutiny since allegations against the record executive began surfacing last year.

The recent purported Twitter cleanse further stirred netizens’ doubts. Several people suggested the singer might have pulled this move to wipe out any potential evidence that could subject him to law enforcement's interrogation.

However, Usher stated X on September 23:

"Account got hacked and damn y'all ran with it!"

Referring to his Past Present Future tour's next show in Inglewood, California, the singer added, "See you tonight at Intuit Dome". X users took to the comments to share their thoughts on the singer's clarification.

"It’s giving Jussie Smollett", wrote one person, supposedly referring to the Empire star's 2019 hate crime hoax.
"That's a weird way to say tampering with evidence", said another.
"You must really think we are stupid", derided one person.
"u got hacked and the hackers decided to delete all your tweets instead of tweeting random stuff?", questioned one X user.

A few others mentioned Justin Bieber, as the Canadian singer was signed into Usher and Scooter Braun's music label RBMG Records, and the R&B singer later introduced a young Bieber to Sean "Diddy" Combs.

As multiple s*x crime allegations surfaced against the Bad Boy Records founder, several people theorized Justin Bieber was also likely abused by Diddy. They also suggested that Usher had to be aware of everything that used to take place in Diddy's "freak off" parties and the purported exploitation Bieber might have faced.

"Dude’s going to pretend like he doesn’t know about Puffy camp?", commented one person.
"You’re going to prison for what you and Diddy did to Justin Bieber", wrote another.
"What?? Lol, timing is JUST a coincidence huh?", said one person.
"Are you serious dude, this just shows that you’re guilty as sin. It’s ok because no one believes you", commented one X user.

Usher had lived in Diddy's house for a year when he was a teen

Diddy was arrested by federal agents in Manhattan on September 16 on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution. Though Diddy's lawyers have denied his involvement in any of these alleged crimes, several people in the Hollywood music scene came under public scrutiny online because of their connection to the rapper.

Usher lived in Diddy's home in Scarsdale, New York, for one year in 1994 when he was in his early teen years. He said L.A. Reid suggested he stay with Diddy to see the "lifestyle" in person. The singer previously spoke about his experience in a 2016 interview with Howard Stern. Usher said during his stay at Puff Daddy's house, he saw some "curious", "wild" and "crazy" things but could not apprehend what he was looking at.

Though there has been no direct allegation against Usher, he was reportedly one of the many who had witnessed Diddy hurling physical abuse at his former partner Cassie. The singer also did not address anything regarding the music mogul since the legal trouble began.
