After NLE Choppa extended his support to the LGBTQ+ community by performing at Atlanta’s Black Pride Weekend, he also explained the real reason why he decided to hit the stage. During the event, NLE Choppa gave a short speech and claimed that he knew that his decision to perform at an LGBTQ+ event would get him backlash.
NLE Choppa said:
“A lot of motherf*ckers will ask me, ‘You a rapper, what you doing at a club like this?’ Well, I say, ‘F*ck them niggas.’ You wanna know why? Every day, man, we wake up and we fight for acceptance. Whether it’s our skin color, whether it’s our weight, whether it’s how we look, whether it’s what our s*xuality is.”
He continued:
“At the end of the day, I believe in one thing: I feel like everybody is equal, no matter how they drink their water, how they eat their food, how they p*ss, sh*t or sleep, do you feel me?”
As soon as the videos from the event made their way on social media, fans and followers started applauding the rapper for his thoughts and views. As an Instagram account, @TheShadeRoom uploaded a video of him performing, one social media user wrote:
“It's good to see real growth within these young artists.”
Others also poured in love and appreciation for the rapper, as the comments read:

During his set at Atlanta’s Black Pride Weekend, NLE Choppa also assured the crowd that he was not there “for extra followers,” he just wanted “to make a difference.” NLE Choppa said:
“I’m not here for no gimmicks, I’m not here for no extra followers, I’m not here for no extra views. ‘Cause I already got ’em if we’re keeping it a hunnid. I’m really here to make a difference and show y’all it’s love, bruh. We Black, no matter what."
Furthermore, his support for the LGBTQ+ community did not just end there; he also gave a quick glimpse of the event on his social media, as he uploaded a video on Instagram with the caption:
