Charli XCX talked about suffering nerve damage on tour

Charli XCX's tweet about meeting Pop Crave in person comes a week after she opened up about the hardships of touring. The Club Classics singer sat down with Variety for an interview published on December 4, calling the tour a "hell hole" in it.

Elaborating on the physical and emotional challenges she faced on tour, Charli said:

"I find touring actually really hard emotionally... I find the stage — especially these days — to be a very angry place for me."

Charli XCX continued:

"I’ve done a lot of physical damage to my body from performing, and I’m often in a lot of pain when I perform. Physically, I have nerve damage in my neck from things I’ve done on the stage."

The Constant Repeat singer went on to mention that in order to give a stage performance that felt "good enough" for her, she often threw herself around on the stage a lot, which upset her.

She also called touring a "hell hole" for the same reason and added that sharing the stage with Troye Sivan made it seem "easier and less of an emotional battle" to her.

Charli XCX's co-headlining tour with Sivan, called "Sweat," kickstarted on September 14 in Detroit and ended on October 23 in Seattle, comprising 22 shows across Canada and the US.

The tour supported the latest albums of Charli XCX and Sivan, Brat (2024) and Something to Give Each Other (2023), respectively, and grossed a revenue of over $28 million.

In the last week of November, the Backseat singer announced five tour dates for her BRAT 2025 ARENA TOUR across the US on her Instagram handle. Charli will have two shows in Brooklyn and one each in Austin, Minneapolis, and Rosemont. The tour kickstarts on April 22 and ends on May 1. The tickets for her shows went on sale on November 25.
