Lil Durk's recent arrest for his alleged involvement in Quando Rondo's murder attempt in 2022 has been creating headlines. The rapper was reportedly leaving for Italy on Friday, October 25 when the authorities took him into custody. Notably, the alleged murder attempt on Rondo led to the death of his cousin Lul Pab when 3 men fired at their vehicle.
While Lil Durk has been charged with murder-for-hire, Quando Rondo released a new song titled Life Goes On. The single came out a day after Durk's arrest and Rondo announced the same through his Instagram page on October 27, 2024.
Rondo added a statement on top of a photo, which featured the cover image of the song, in the post and it reads:
"We didn't get into this music industry to make it just to stay caught up in this street s**t. We all have families and communities counting on us. It's time to leave all that behind."
The statement also mentioned:
"We've already lost so much, and it's heavy on my heart to forgive anyone I had issues with in the post. It's all love from me. Praying for everyone."
The majority of Quando Rondo's fans were spotted expressing their love for him, and there were a few others who demanded the release of Durk from prison.
Lil Durk booked 3 different flights before he was arrested
As mentioned, Lil Durk was arrested by the authorities in South Florida and the news came a day after five more people were taken into custody for being reportedly involved in the murder attempt of Quando Rondo.
The 5 individuals were a part of Durk's hip-hop group OTF, also known as Only The Family. Charges of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire were imposed on them alongside committing murder-for-hire involving death and the use of a machine gun in a violent crime resulting in death.
Notably, Lil Durk had reportedly booked 3 different international flights on the day of his arrest, as revealed in the FBI documents. According to Hip Hop DX's October 27 report, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection notifications informed them about Durk entering two different flights.
One of Durk's flights was traveling to Dubai via Doha, Qatar and the other was going to Switzerland through New Jersey. Although both flights were supposed to leave on October 24, 2024, Durk did not enter any one of them and instead opted to leave Miami on a private plane.
On the other hand, the 5 arrested people were identified as Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston. A statement from U.S. District Attorney Martin Estrada also disclosed everything that led to the alleged murder attempt on Quando Rondo in 2022.
Following the murder of King Von in 2020, Lil Durk and Quando Rondo had a dispute since the latter's associate reportedly fired shots at Von. Von was also a member of OTF and Durk allegedly planned to murder Rondo. As per The United States Attorney’s Office press release, 5 one way tickets were taken for traveling to California a day before the shooting incident.
Durk did not travel with the entire group and one of the members reportedly brought ski masks. The group reportedly used two vehicles to track Quando Rondo, leading to the shooting incident at a gas station where Rondo's cousin Lul Pab lost his life.
