Justin Timberlake recently made headlines after he was arrested on June 18 on suspicion of intoxicated driving. The incident took place in the Hamptons area when he was stopped for failing to stay on his side of the street and driving through a stop sign. The artist was arraigned and released without bail nine hours after the arrest, as per NBC News.
Timberlake took the stage on June 21 for his first concert since the arrest. At the show, which is part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, he seemingly addressed the situation as he said he had had a "tough week."
"It's been a tough week. But you’re here, and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now. I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I’m loving you right back," he mentioned.
Justin Timberlake reportedly "performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests"
An eyewitness present at the bar in the American Hotel told The Post that Timberlake allegedly appeared to be visibly intoxicated and consumed someone else's drink when they were not present at the table. The artist was arrested while he was leaving the establishment in his 2025 gray BMW.
As per arrest reports obtained by People, after Justin Timberlake was arrested for suspected drunk driving, the actor claimed he just had "one martini." He also refused a breathalyzer test three times and "performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests," the documents stated. Timberlake was also reported to have "bloodshot and glassy" eyes, a strong odor of alcohol, and slowed speech.
Justin Timberlake's attorney, Eddie Burke Jr., told Page Six that the artist was a "gentleman" as he shed light on the incident and said:
"He didn't show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right."
An eyewitness told Page Six that the arresting officer reportedly did not recognize the artist during the arrest. The individual claimed that the artist told the official:
"This is going to ruin the tour."
When the officer asked, "What tour?" the singer responded, "The world tour." After being arrested, Justin Timberlake was taken into custody and charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and cited for two traffic violations. His next court appearance is set for July 26. This is expected to take place virtually.
The artist is now scheduled to headline the June 25 and 26 shows at Madison Square Garden as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is in support of his album, Everything I Thought It Was. He will then take the stage at TD Garden on June 29 and 30.
