In an October 1 interview with the Daily Mail, Wendy Williams discussed Diddy's recent arrest and legal issues, referencing a viral video from months ago showing him allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in a hotel lobby.
Wendy Williams said:
“You know how I feel about that? It is about time. To see this video on TV of Cassie getting pummeled… it was just horrific. But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”
The statement by Williams comes in weeks after Diddy was arrested in New York on the charges of racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking, and transportation to engage in pro*titution. While the rapper and his lawyers have constantly refuted all the allegations, he continues to remain in the Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting his trial which is scheduled for October 9, 2024.
“He's a mogul!” — Wendy Williams’ 2015 statement about Diddy explored as the internet personality shared her opinion on his arrest
Wendy Williams has been critical of Diddy aka Sean Combs for many years, as she previously talked about the rapper’s breakups in her 2015 The Wendy Williams Show. At the time, she said:
"You know, my thing about when you date a mogul, is, that it's really difficult to avoid them because if you use your head, you never know when they're going to pop up on the scene. He's a mogul! Like, he can hire a plane right now, zoom it to South Africa, land on the roof of the hotel where she's staying, pay people off at the front desk, 'Give me the key and let me up in her room.”
Furthermore, Wendy has also been critical of the rapper, as Charlamagne The God revealed in the Fragrant podcast aired in May, this year, that Diddy got Williams fired from Hot 97 after she allegedly claimed that Diddy was gay, and had an intimate picture of him with a man.
However, there has been no confirmation by Wendy Williams or Diddy on the claims made by Charlamagne.
For the unversed, in November 2023 Diddy's ex-girlfriend, Cassie filed a lawsuit against the rapper and claimed that he abused her s*xually and physically. She also mentioned that Diddy often forced her into alcohol and drugs, and asked her to perform explicit activities with s*x workers while he recorded it.
While Cassie took back her case the next day after reaching an undisclosed agreement, many other women stepped forward and made similar complaints and claims.
While Wendy Williams' statement about Diddy has become the headlines, however, at the moment, Diddy’s representatives or the lawyer has not spoken up on the statement by the media personality.
While Diddy continues to spend time behind bars, it is also worth noting that the rapper’s lawyers have reportedly submitted a bail package in the court, which consisted of a bail bond worth $50 million, along with the passport of the rapper, to prove that Diddy will not run away. However, the prosecutors argued that the rapper was a “flight risk,” and hence, the judge denied bail to the rapper.
