Hip-hop fans were treated to an unforgettable experience at Kendrick Lamar's Pop Out show last night, as Tommy the Clown made a surprise appearance. On June 19, 2024, Lamar concluded his Juneteenth concert, and eventgoers were entertained by numerous performers, including American dancer Tommy.

Fans erupted in cheers as Tommy burst onto the stage. Many took to X (formerly Twitter), reflecting their happiness at the surprise, as one X user suggested that it is the authentic representation of Los Angeles culture.

"If you from LA or cali, then you know how crazy this is having Kendrick bring out Tommy the clown 😭😭😭," another person wrote.

Many fans expressed their admiration for Tommy, calling him a legend who introduced them to dancing and helped many youths stay positive. They noted that Tommy's appearance at Kendrick Lamar's concert was a delightful surprise.

"Tommy the Clown is a legend. He and his crew were at my sister in law's house in the Dons (IYKYK) maybe 7 years ago, and The Supernatural Bear (our son) was little and was dancing with the crew," one netizen wrote.
"Knowing Tommy the Clown is still alive, well, and crunking with the youth just did sumn to me," one person commented.
"Trying to clown Tommy who been helping the youth through dancing in California is why you are NOT LIKE US," wrote one person on X.

Some netizens also reminisced about their childhood memories of getting introduced to the dancer.

"For an entire summer, the Rize documentary was all I watched. Tommy the Clown is a legend," a fan wrote on X.
"Folks acting like they didn't have a Tommy phase in their youth is crazy to me. Tommy the Clown is who even introduced me to krumpin Forreal. Put some respeckt on his name!!" another tweeted.
"I really respect that they put Tommy the Clown out here because he has been saving young lives with dance for over 20 years. This is beautiful," another person wrote.

The online dance clip features Tommy the Clown in his signature clown headgear as he takes to the stage, energizing the crowd. He reminisces that 20 years have passed since he last had a battle zone at the exact location. Before the dance performance, Tommy said:

"What's up, you all? Dizzy got a show at the forum. At the forum, baby, man, it's been about 20 years since I had battle zone at the same place. Who's the building? Is Compton in the building? Is Single Wood in the building? Is Watts in the building? Is Long Beach in the building? The beach where you at? What about LA? Is LA in the building?"

American dancer Thomas Johnson is known as the creator of the clown-based dance style that evolved into krumping. He has been inspiring inner-city youth for over 3 decades now.

The internationally acclaimed dancer has performed for many heavyweights, including Madonna, Pamela Anderson, and Snoop Dogg. Tommy got international recognition when he became the focus of David LaChapelle's award-winning documentary, RIZE.

The title of his concert, The Pop Out — Ken and Friends, is inspired by his different songs from the feud, including Not Like Us, as per Variety. Lamar concluded his concert on Wednesday at Kia Forum in Los Angeles. There were many surprise performances from his "friends," some of which included:

Kendrick Lamar also performed his top-charted tracks during the concert, including Euphoria, in which he added a surprise verse. According to Billboard, the artist concluded the concert by stating that his focus was not on creating back-and-forth tracks but on capturing the moment and bringing everyone together.
