Charlamagne Tha God recently turned down the speculations of a possible Drake diss in A$AP Rocky and J. Cole's collaboration song called Ruby Rosary. The track marks the first time A$AP Rocky and J. Cole have collaborated and is the third single of the former's upcoming album, Don't Be Dumb.
Fans speculated that the A$AP Rocky took subliminal shots at Drizzy and revived his longstanding beef with the 6 God rapper.
“N—a want smoke with me, tell him, ‘Push up, Hercules’/ Hercules, tell him push up, tell him pull up, 33,” raps A$AP Rocky in the track, which fans perceived as a reference to Drizzy's Push Ups diss track.
Another instance where Drizzy seemingly gets dissed is when Rocky raps:
“Who in your top five? Haha (F–k your top five)/ I don’t get fresh to death, b–h, I’m buried alive/ I heard dawg talkin’ funny, like it’s Family Guy/ Carin’ for n—s like I’m Mary or Bob, made a promise to God/ You gotta strive when you marry the mob.”
However, Charlamagne Tha God dismissed the claims on the latest episode of The Breakfast Club.
"J. Cole better not be dissing nobody," said Charlamagne when the topic came up.
When his co-hosts brought up the 'top five' jibe, he provided his explanation, stating that it can't be a Drizzy-diss unless someone's top five was "Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake, Drake." Coincidentally, DJ Akademiks once named Drizzy in all five of his top-five ranking of rappers.
A$AP Rocky already has an ongoing beef with Drizzy. Therefore, saying something so subliminal in a collaboration effort seemingly won't cut the cake for the Harlem rapper. The most likely scenario seems to be that all the alleged references were unintentional and coincidental.
"I ain’t in the middle of that s**t"— When A$AP Rocky dismissed dissing at Drake in his track
Drizzy and A$AP Rocky have incessantly thrown jibes at each other in 2024. Several fans thought that Drizzy had dissed Rocky in his new track, It's Up, especially because Rocky's new album was just around the corner.
Some fans even suspect that A$AP Rocky has already fired some subtle shots at Drizzy in his track Highjack. However, the Harlem creative turned down the rumors when asked about them by Billboard for their cover story for August this year.
"You got to realize, certain n***as was throwing shots for years. I ain’t in the middle of that s**t. That’s not how I retaliate right now. I got bigger fish to fry than some p***y boys. It is real beef outside. It is real. N***as getting really clipped and blitzed every day. N***as sniping n***as every day. That little kitty s**t ain’t about nothing," commented A$AP Rocky.
A$AP Rocky's upcoming album, Don't Be Dumb, is set to be released later this year.
