Marking its 16th non-consecutive week atop Billboard 200, Taylor Swift's eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, has returned to the No.1 spot on the publication's album charts.
According to a new report from Billboard, TTPD is expected to return to No.1, dethroning Kendrick Lamar's GNX album, a week after Taylor and her team released the first physical edition of the album’s deluxe Anthology edition.
Taylor's The Tortured Poets Department: Anthology deluxe was exclusively sold at Target and has reportedly sold 405,000 equivalent album units, in the U.S. as of December 5, 2024.
With Taylor Swift pushing ahead of Kendrick Lamar's sixth studio album, which sold 165,000 units this past week, several media outlets have reposted Billboard 200's new list across social media.
Several individuals took to NFR Podcast's post on X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department regaining its No.1 spot on Billboard. While several individuals praised the singer's accomplishment, one individual was seen citing Jack Antonoff's contribution to both projects as a producer.
More reactions followed with fans praising TTPD's Billboard achievement in the comment section.
"Taylor Swift is the goat, even Drake said it," said one individual.
"Not mad at it, Taylor has a stronger fanbase & always does numbers," said another.
"Jack Antonoff is getting the biggest fu*king bag I guess??," another cited Jack Antonoff's contribution.
Some individuals were seen critiquing Taylor and her eleventh studio album, calling out the singer's fanbase.
"Taylor only up there cuz she's made the same album 20+ times," a critic stated.
"Holy sh*t those Swifties will blow their money on anything Taylor Swift puts out," said another.
"Do Swifties buy every single new version of TTPD???," a critic questioned.
Kendrick Lamar's fans flooded the comment section to defend his new album GNX, with a few users suggesting the project had performed better than TTPD.
"You mean Taylor Swift selling 405k units but we are yet to hear a single song from the 100x version deluxe EP. Rap and GNX won. Taylor is a fraud," a user stated.
"KDot goin Gold in 2 weeks is the real news! Congrats to Taylor as well… 2 things can be true," a fan praised both albums.
"Kendrick won. He didn't release 50 versions of GNX," another stated.
