Grammy-winning rapper Eve's memoir, Who's That Girl, has recently been published on September 17, 2024. In the memoir, the 45-year-old covered several aspects of her life, including her stardom and legacy. Meanwhile, she also explained an incident that she had reportedly faced back in 2007.

The incident involved the rapper getting drugged at the 2007 VMAs after party, and later being saved by Janet Jackson. In the memoir, she wrote:

"Missy (Elliott) came in to check on me, but I was just unable to collect myself. Then who walks in, Janet Jackson. I had never met her before, and so her first introduction to me was seeing me hysterical.

She further continued, adding:

None of that mattered to Janet; she actually just sprang into action and told people to get aspirin, water, hot sauce, and a piece of white bread. That concoction knocked me right out of my hysteria. So basically Janet Jackson saved my life."

This wasn't the first time that the rapper spoke about the incident. Back in April 2018, on an episode of The Talk, she recalled the same event, making a special mention of Janet. Eve then revealed that while her friend thought that she was only drunk, she knew that she wasn't feeling well and that something was wrong.

Recalling that she had left her drink unattended several times at the party, she stated:

"Probably an hour after the last time I picked my drink up, I started feeling crazy and not drunk."

Everything to know about Eve's new memoir Who's That Girl

As aforementioned, the rapper published her memoir Who's That Girl a few days back. The title of the memoir is based on a 2001 song by Eve with the same name. Born in Philadelphia, the 45-year-old rapper's new memoir deals with her journey to fame and success.

In an exclusive interview with BET, which was published on September 17, the rapper reportedly mentioned that she was offered to write a book quite some time ago. She, however, rejected it back then. In the same interview, she further added:

"I wasn't ready. I was like, 'No, this is enough.' It's been a slow build ever since I was on 'The Talk.' Taking that job required me to open up, which I had never really done before. You know, I wasn't kinda open on my socials."

The rapper then continued:

"Someone said to me a long time ago, 'What you reveal, can heal.' I know it's almost like a cliche thing to say but I do believe that. There was a lot of stuff that I was holding on to trying to navigate by myself and that was just not healthy."

She further opened up about her experience of working with other artists like Nicki Minaj. The rapper also explained the challenges she faced for being "deeply honest."

The new memoir is now available in all bookstores. The book's hardcover version can be found on Amazon for $20.99.
