Sports columnist Jason Whitlock has publically criticized Jay-Z after the latter was accused of assaulting a 13-year-old girl with Diddy by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee. Jason Whitlock is the host of the popular program called Fearless with Jason Whitlock for the media company Blaze Media.
On December 8, Buzbee filed a civil lawsuit accusing the Roc Nation founder of allegedly r*ping a 13-year-old minor alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs back in 2000. Hours after the filing, Jay-Z responded with a public statement where he called Buzbee a 'deplorable human being.'
The music producer also alleged that his lawyers had received a blackmail letter from the Texas attorney. The same day, Jason Whitlock took to X to share a series of sarcastic comments aimed at Jay-Z. In his tweets, Whitlock accused Jay-Z of being a drug dealer but sarcastically mentioned that the rapper only sold drugs to adults.
"When Jay Z sold drugs, he checked IDs and made sure no kids were harmed. He didn't sell to parents. He honored a code. He was the honorable drug dealer. Tony Buzbee is about to find out. Jay Z is different. Even his threats are honorable," wrote Jason Whitlock.
He doubled down on his 'honorable drug dealer' jibe, writing on X:
"My understanding is Jay Z only sold to users over 18. Had to have two forms of ID to buy from Jay. A very honorable drug dealer. He would often clasp the hand of a buyer and say a little prayer before completing the deal."
When fans, who didn't get his sarcasm questioned the journalist, he responded by stating:
"No. I'm defending Jay Z. As a drug dealer he behaved with honor. Always looking out for kids. He does the same thing with his music. He's always thinking about how his music will impact kids. There's a line Jay won't cross. He's a man of great honor."
However, he finally cleared the air by explicitly stating that he was being sarcastic and further commented on Jay-Z and his music.
"FYI: I've shredded Jay Z for years. I hate Jay Z and his music. I hate the way he's passed off as some sort of role model. He's satanic and so is his music. I apologize if you can't see the obvious sarcasm," he concluded.
"I'm more than prepared to deal with your type" - Jay-Z issues immediate response to Tony Buzbee's civil lawsuit
Jay-Z was quick to react to Tony Buzbee's accusations in the civil lawsuit and issued a response on social media platforms, refuting the claims made by the Texas attorney. The Roc Nation founder called Buzbee a 'fraud' and denied giving him 'one red penny' despite his alleged blackmail attempts.
He further implored Tony Buzbee to change the civil lawsuit into a criminal one, opining that whoever committed such a 'heinous' crime deserved to be 'locked away.' Jay-Z went on to personally attack Buzbee, stating:
"I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I'm more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity."
He continued, describing the act of explaining the situation to his children as the "only heartbreak."
"My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit," said Jay-Z.
Jay-Z ended the statement by asserting that only conspiracy theorists would believe in Tony Buzbee and stated that he would look forward to showing how different he was from the quintessential 'celebrities.'
The lawsuit has been filed under New York's Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, and Tony Buzbee is representing the alleged victim in the lawsuit.
It states that the 13-year-old girl wasn't able to procure tickets to an MTV Video Music Awards party in 2000. She approached various limousine drivers outside the venue, one of which was Diddy's driver, who invited her to the afterparty.
According to the lawsuit, the minor was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement if she wanted to enter the party. Thereafter, she was escorted to a white house, where she reportedly saw celebrities allegedly doing marijuana and an assortment of other drugs.
She was reportedly offered drugs, after which she fell asleep and was allegedly assaulted by Diddy and Jay-Z.
It is worth noting that Diddy, who is also a defendant in Buzbee's lawsuit has denied the allegations through his legal team. The Bad Boy Records founder, who was arrested on September 16 on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in pr*stitution continues to remain at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
His next trial for s*x trafficking charges is scheduled for May 5, 2025.
