Popular singer Billy Joel recently spoke to news outlet PIX11 and shared his thoughts on Justin Timberlake’s recent DWI case. Talking about Justin’s arrest on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Billy Joel said:

“Judge not lest ye be judged.”

He then stated that he does not “really know that much” about the case and hence had “no comment” about what was happening. Furthermore, as Billy Joel was spotted at the same hotel where Justin was seen before his arrest, the reporter from the news outlet asked the singer if he often visits the hotel, to which Joel responded with an affirmative response. He said:

“When I’m here, yeah.”

Justin Timberlake was arrested on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after he failed to stop his car at the stop sign. As the police officers pulled him over, he was found to be heavily intoxicated. As per the Sag Harbor police officers, the singer also smelled of an “alcoholic beverage,” due to which he was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday.

However, he was later released on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. At the time of arrest, Justin Timberlake was driving his 2025 BMW. People Magazine also reported that when the police officers confronted him, he responded by stating that he “only had one martini,” as he refused to take the breathalyzer test.

Justin Timberlake’s hearing will be held on July 26, 2024

While Justin Timberlake was arrested and released within a few hours, he is now due for a court hearing on July 26, 2024. This is also because the police reported that the singer “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.” The initial report from the police stated:

“Justin Timberlake’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot."

On the other hand, Sag Harbor Police Chief Robert Drake also released a statement and said:

“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.”

The statement continued:

“Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”

Furthermore, as Billy Joel was spotted having his meals at the same American Hotel where Justin was partying the night of his arrest, The New York Times also reported that the hotel is just a short walk away from Billy’s house.

At the same time, social media users continue to pour in their thoughts on the matter, as many netizens are bashing Timberlake for being “irresponsible,” as he was caught drunk driving.
