Tyler, the Creator recently performed a version of his 2017 song, 911/ Mr. Lonely at the ACL Fest held on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He shocked the audience by flipping the lyrics and turning the song into a diss track targeting Elon Musk.
During the show, he rapped:
"Can't see straight, these shades are Céline Dion. Sucks you can't gas me up, shout out to Elon... Musk, yeah I got a sold out show. Crowd wild out but don't matter 'cause you not front row. Man f*ck Elon.”
As the videos from the ACL Festival their way on social media, several netizens started sharing their reactions. One X user commented on @Kurrco’s post about the same on the platform:
“Tyler just out flaming people for no reason what is bro doing."
Others also questioned Tyler, The Creator’s change in lyrics, and wrote:
“Cringe, it's only cool for normal ppl to hate Elon,” added one social media user.
“Tyler is out of styles and has to resort to influencer moves, dissing,” wrote another netizen.
Many also slammed Tyler and wrote how probably Elon Musk might even not know who Tyler, the Creator is.
“Elon don’t even know you Tyler,” claimed another internet user.
“Elon could literally employ you to be his gate man. Pipe down bro,” added one X user.

As Tyler, the Creator dissed Elon Musk in his recent show, many social media users pointed out how the rapper has not always been a Musk hater. This is because, a decade back, he often showered praises for the billionaire.
From often tweeting about Musk, to posting on social media tagging the TESLA CEO informing him that he brought one of his cars, Tyler, the Creator posted in 2016, thanking Elon Musk for introducing an alternative to vehicles using gas.
He said:
“@elonmusk I LOVE YOU THANK YOU FOR CHANGING THE WORLD. AND MAKING THE EVIL OIL MEN WHO RUN THE WORLD HATE YOU."
Thereafter, when Tyler, the Creator was involved in a car accident in October 2018 as he crashed his Tesla Model X into a parked car, he explained the entire incident and again thanked Elon.
Posting the same on Instagram, the rapper said:
“my big doopy a*s usually go to sleep at 10:30 (I wake up at 7 er morn) and guess who wanted to finish music super late and dosed off for a few seconds while driving home, I’m a dumb a*s bi*ch but lil mama don’t have a scratch I’m lucky. I calmly jumped out the back and called the people. Thanks, Elon for the excessive airbags u a qt. good day sir.”
Elon Musk has not yet responded to the diss by the rapper at the ACL Fest.
