Ye, formerly Kanye West, gave fellow American rapper and collaborator Rich The Kid an update on his career, saying that he will be getting out of the music game.

On Tuesday, July 9, Rich The Kid shared a screenshot of his recent text exchange with the Gold Digger rapper on his Instagram Story. In it, Ye informs Rich is calling it quits in the music scene. The Chicago rapper texted:

"I'm retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do."

Shocked by Ye's bombshell, Rich The Kid questioned his decision in his follow-up messages, writing:

"Retire? Why? The ppl NEED you the music you & Ty & we have made was the BIGGEST STAMP in culture to this date. In 2024."

Rich The Kid doesn't think Kanye West should retire, even going as far as telling him to drop his much-waited Vultures 2 album in the text message. He wrote:

"Drop Ye about mine & V2 and we do it all over again the kids need you big bra fasho maybe some time to chill but retiring ain't it."

It is not known if Ye further responded or not.

It's still unsure whether Ye is making do with his words and retiring from the music industry or not. What is sure, however, is his new song with Consequence, No Apologies, dropping on July 12. News of the release came shortly after Rich The Kid's Story about his retirement went viral.

Rich The Kid has also revealed that a new album with Ye and other artists is on the way.

Kanye West is featured in Rich The Kid's upcoming album

Shortly after he shared his exchange with Kanye West on his Instagram Story, Rich The Kid took to his X account to drop the news of his upcoming album, Life's a Gamble.

Sharing the tracklist of his new album, which is expected to come out next Friday, July 19, Rich wrote:

"ACTUALLY WE DROPPING FRIDAY... 7/19"

In his new album's tracklist, Ye will be featured on the 16th track titled Plain Jane. Rich the Kid's album will include Gimme a Second 2 as the 12th track, featuring Peso Pluma, Ye, and Ty Dolla $ign.

The album will feature additional artists such as Peso Pluma, Offset, French Montana, Takeoff, and Quavo. It also includes the single Carnival, featuring Playboi Carti, Ye, and Ty Dolla $ign, which topped the Billboard Hot 100, marking Rich The Kid's first and Kanye West's first in 13 years.
