Kate Cassidy and Liam Payne had been in a relationship for two years before his untimely death. She expressed her grief on Instagram on October 18, 2024, two days after Liam Payne's death.

She wrote, "I have been at a complete loss. Nothing about the past few days have felt real. I ask and pray that you'll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private."

She concluded her post with, "Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam."

On November 20, Kate Cassidy joined Payne's friends and family at his funeral in the English countryside. Cassidy, who had joined Payne for a two-week vacation in Argentina shortly before his death, shared that she returned home alone before the incident.
