Kendrick Lamar has dropped his sixth studio album titled GNX, on November 22, 2024. The album, which has twelve tracks, has been gaining massive traction on streaming platforms as well as on social media. Recently, the track TV Off topped the Global Apple Music Chart surpassing Squabble Up.

For quite some time, Squabble Up and Wacced Up Murals had gained immense appreciation and popularity amongst listeners. The recent ranking of TV Off on the top of the Apple Music Chart has garnered traction on social media.

Netizens flooded the social media platforms with their reactions to the news. Here are some popular responses found on X, formerly known as Twitter. A user (@ninemind82) wrote:

Virginia Commonwealth University’s pep band had given symphony behind Kendrick Lamar's vocals in TV Off

TV Off has become a popular song from Kendrick Lamar's latest album. As reported by Billboard, a symphony behind Kendrick's vocals was provided by the Virginia Commonwealth University's pep band, The Peppas, during their performance at the Rams' basketball game in South Carolina on Sunday, November 24.

In a comment on TikTok, The Peppas wrote:

"First pep band to play it two days after it was released."

A particular part of the track that attracted the audience the most was possibly Kendrick Lamar's shout-out to Mustard in it. Mustard further spoke to Billboard shortly after the release of the album and shared his take on the shout-out. He said:

"That sh*t was elite. So fire. Like, is that a new tag? I can’t wait to perform that song and just hear people just saying that, ‘cause everybody’s going to say that like crazy."

Mustard added that he began making the track around the same time as he was working on Not Like Us. On November 22, Billboard provided the rankings for all the tracks of the latest album. While the list was topped by Reincarnated, TV Off secured the second rank of the list.

Talking further about the latest album, Mustard revealed that the release of GNX was a surprise to him just like it was for the fans.

Kendrick's GNX made it to streaming platforms several years after he released his last studio album titled Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, back in 2022. The album had features of several artists including SZA, Jack Antonoff, Sounwave, Mustard, as well as Kamasi Washington, to name a few.
