Wack 100, aka Cash Jones, rose to Kendrick Lamar's defense after 03 Greedo allegedly shaded the rapper on X by asking who the "real colonizer" was, referring to Kendrick dubbing Drake a colonizer in Not Like Us. Greedo also claimed that Lamar "finessed" upcoming LA artists to boost his career in a series of tweets posted on June 19, 2024. Greedo wrote in one of his tweets,
"Lmao Cus finessed yall for promo. Im not never a pawn lol is wee swapping feats or what? Lmao hahhaahhahah diabolical greedy is bacc to let you know. Ve been had"
While Greedo did not mention Lamar by name, people quickly surmised that he was throwing shade at Lamar for his massive success following his rap beef with Drake and his Juneteenth Pop Out show.
During his recent appearance on No Jumper on July 25, 2024, Wack 100 criticized Greedo for his alleged slights against Kendrick, saying that the West Coast will always support the rapper.
"It's not about that. It's just about being real. They really respect and f**k with Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar doesn't have to bribe or pay for no passage. To anywhere on the West Coast. Compton got his back."
He added,
"He don't gotta go over there and pay. [K. Dot is] not a guy that has to pay his way. And Greedo is speaking from the mindset of a guy that had to pay his way."
Wack 100 on why he was absent at Kendrick Lamar's pop-out show
Kendrick Lamar's Juneteenth show 'The Pop Out: Ken & Friends' showcased a West Coast unification like none other. Several LA artists performed on stage during the 4-hour show, including Tyler, the Creator, Dr. Dre, Roddy Richh, Steve Lacy, YG, and Jay Rock, among others.
Lamar's two-hour set had a mix of his old and new songs, with the rapper performing four of his five Drake diss tracks. The show closed with Kendrick rapping Not Like Us six times, with several West Coast legends joining him on stage for a group photo.
Three prominent LA names missing from the list were Snoop Dogg, Wack 100, and The Game. While it is unclear why Snoop was not there, Wack 100 set the record straight to clarify why he and The Game, whom he manages, did not make it to the event.
The record executive said he was busy renovating his recording studio during his interview with VladTV on July 18, 2024.
“I’m one of those where if you not on me about it, I’ll forget. I was in my studio, reconstructing my studio, stressing out over one of my podcast stands. I go looking for the guy and he told me the show was over at 8 o’clock sharp. I totally forgot, that’s when I hit Game.”
According to The Source, Wack 100 added The Game was at home caring for his pregnant partner and therefore couldn't make it to the show.
The Game also addressed the concerns about why he wasn't in the Pop Out on an Instagram live session on June 20, after many fans alluded to the rapper choosing Drake's side in the feud. In the Instagram live session, he praised the show, adding that the show was "amazing for the West Coast." He added Drake was his brother, choosing to remain neutral in the feud.
Not Like Us returned the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 following Kendrick Lamar's Juneteenth show. The song gained further traction when the rapper released its music video on July 4, taking more subliminal shots at Drake, and still holds the No. 3 spot on this week's Billboard charts.
