Dame Dash recently shared a video through Instagram on June 6, 2024, which has now grabbed the attention of the public. It featured an old tweet where he approached Kendrick Lamar to purchase a stake for himself at Roc-A-Fella Records.

The news comes at a time when there have been reports about Dame Dash selling his shares in the record label. The tweet added to his Instagram post was originally shared back in June 2010 and Lamar wrote at the time:

"I'm sorry, Reasonable Doubt is beter than Illmatic… #youcanunfollowmenow."

In his latest post, Dame Dash referred to Kendrick Lamar by writing in the caption:

"@kendricklamar my 3rd is for sale if you want to buy it. Any serious offers [arrow emoji] DM."

Notably, the entrepreneur was told to sell his shares at Roc-A-Fella Records in February this year. The order was put out by Judge Lehrburger so that he could pay the debt of a lawsuit and he was given 21 days to hand over the certificate which is proof of his ownership in the company.

On the other hand, Lehrburger's decision was criticized by Jay-Z and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, who stated that the sale was impossible until it was approved by the board of directors. Dame's debt emerged from a lawsuit where he was accused of copyright infringement by producer Josh Webber in 2019.

Dame Dash lost the legal case against Josh Webber: Lawsuit and other details explained

Producer Josh Webber filed a lawsuit against Dame Dash on charges of copyright infringement related to the film Dear Frank. The legal documents claim that despite being removed from the production process, Dash promoted the film as his own and even changed the title to "The List."

Dash was initially supposed to direct the film, but Webber reportedly claimed that Dash was frequently high when he arrived on set. In his promotional efforts, Dame Dash stated that the entire project was filmed at his residence and alleged that equipment was stolen to allow the film to proceed without his involvement.

Josh even shared a lengthy Instagram post in 2019 where he criticized Dame, saying that he won't support his lies. Webber additionally stated that Dash was "not a true independent artist or businessman like he tries to pretend to be." He continued:

"Dame has no idea what directing a movie actually is or takes and was constantly yelling at crew members/cast, berating people on set, smoking weed and basically sleeping at the wheel. Then while in the process of finishing the film, Dame was being a hot head with the studio executive producer/financier stepping out of line and finally got fired!!"

Webber added that he was told to complete the remaining portions of the film and he assisted in the same. While Josh later deleted the post, Dame responded on Instagram with a video and wrote:

"These liars @muddfilms @joshawebber and @tonywhiteceo tried to con me and when I caught them I lying I took over the project and let @muddfilms stay in form short paper because he pretended to be thorough."

The lawsuit was settled in April 2022 when the court ordered Dame Dash to pay $805,000 to the producers and director of the film.
