Well-known rapper The Game is trending on social media after he revealed that he is working to help the general public in between the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.
The Game shared a video through his Instagram handle on January 12, 2024, speaking up on how he is giving on-the-ground relief efforts to the firefighters. He has additionally shared some photos over the last few days, showing everything that he is doing to offer help during the fires.
On Sunday, he posted a snap of his team and wrote:
"Shout out to my over night team out here the past 72 hours here grinding for the city off little to no sleep to see that people get anything & everything they need during this time. All superheroes don’t wear capes."
He disclosed that his team has provided the necessary material to the authorities working to douse the flames, including blankets and water. Also known as Jayceon Terrell Taylor, he further stated that his team is also doing their best to save the animals and find the best shelter for them.
Addressing the reason for his actions, he said:
"It's just a time where everybody needs everybody, you know? It's like one of those times in America where everybody just needs to hone in on what's going on here and do anything that you can to help."
The artist confirmed the same details in his caption, saying that he is trying to make life easier for the firefighters who have been working day and night.
"The hearts & level of humility in each & every soul down here is a beautiful thing to witness & be a part of. These fighters are coming from all over the city, state & country to help put an end to what has been a long week of catastrophic events caused by these fires," he further stated.
The Game said that the firefighters even expressed gratitude to him for the help, and ended by saying that he will always be available for Los Angeles, adding that anyone willing to contribute can follow his page for all the details on how they can do it.
Meanwhile, netizens took to the comments section of The Shade Room's Instagram post to react to The Game's contributions. One of them claimed that Kendrick Lamar was possibly offering help at the same place, but has not shared anything so far.
People were spotted praising Jayceon for what he did, with one of them appreciating the way he stood up for the city. Another person wrote that no one can hate him because he is serving his community.
The Game has been sharing other posts from Los Angeles in the last few days
While the Compton, California native grabbed a lot of attention for his latest video on Instagram, he has been posting other glimpses related to his work during the Los Angeles fires on the same platform. Around four days ago, he shared a video showing the destruction caused by the flames and requested everyone to evacuate as soon as possible.
"I have many friends, neighbors & people I know that have lost everything. My own home & those around it are in extreme danger as the Santa Monica mountains fires continue to spread & has now even reached the Hollywood hills close to Runyon Canyon," he wrote.
On January 11, 2025, The Game posted some photos on Instagram, revealing that he has collaborated with Wrap City Detailing and EcoFlow to provide additional tents along with other necessary facilities like water and hot food to the firefighters.
In the same post, Jayceon thanked all those who "individually & collectively" did a lot of things and added:
"I know the past few days have been a nightmare for this city & I've been outside in the streets to witness these catastrophic fires firsthand & all that it has effected."
Back in August 2024, The Game confirmed the arrival of his next album, The Documentary 3, as he appeared on the podcast Tacos & Shawarma. Although he did not reveal a specific release date, he said that he was planning to release it on the same day when the other installments dropped.
