The latest dispute between Killer Mike and Travis Scott has taken a new turn after Scott's manager, David Stromberg, responded to a few lyrics from Mike's song Still Talk'n That Sh*t, which seemed to diss Scott. The single is part of his latest album, Songs for Sinners & Saints.
Mike's lyrics appeared to target this year's Grammy Awards, where he managed to win three accolades while Scott did not win any. Mike's lyrics from the song stated:
"You gon respect me like a mother*ckin' Grammy winner. Like I cooked your favorite rapper like a Granny dinner."
Although Mike has not confirmed whether the lyrics were directed at Scott, Stromberg replied through his official page on X, where he compared Mike to a few artists and wrote:
"Macklemore and Cardi B tour selling out Chuck E Cheese karaoke nights near u."
Mike has yet to share a response to the tweet, and while Stromberg's account is currently inactive, NFR Podcast managed to capture a screenshot of David's reply, sharing it through X. Netizens took to the comments section of the post to share their reactions to Stromberg's reply on social media. One X user tweeted:
A few people praised Stromberg for the way he responded.
"Travis Scott's manager cooked," a user wrote.
"Killer Mike can't show his face ever again," another user wrote.
"Damn that was savage," a third user wrote.
Others tried to make fun of everything that was happening.
"Killer Mike would cook Travis in a rap battle," a reaction reads.
"I love killer mike but he got cooked," a second reaction reads.
Some users tried to find out the reference to Travis in Stromberg's post.
"Maybe I am slow but I don't see how that reference Travis," a reaction stated.
"What the hell does that even mean," another reaction stated.
"Acting like Travis is even in the same conversation of being a better rapper than Killer Mike is ridiculous," a third reaction stated.
Travis Scott had previously spoken up about not winning a Grammy for a long time
The Houston, Texas native has managed to win multiple accolades throughout his career for his flawless work. However, he has yet to receive a Grammy, and although he has been nominated in different categories since 2014, he did not emerge as a winner in any one of them.
In April this year, Travis Scott appeared for an interview in a show titled The Shop and addressed his feelings for not being able to win a Grammy until now. He said:
"A lot of our peers everyone's like, 'F*ck that award.' I f*ck with it. You play football to win a Super Bowl, you play basketball to win championships. It's what that Grammy used to mean is the idea I hold on to. I love to create music."
Travis Scott added that Grammy's status is on top if compared to other awards. He said that rap never appears on TV and continued:
"It's like, you sit there and they air the rap award at 2 or 1:30, but you gotta perform at 8:30. So imagine losing at 1:30 and having to sit there for seven hours? Like f*ck this sh*t, you be like, 'I wanna just dip. F*ck this sh*t."
Notably, Travis Scott's latest album Utopia was nominated in the category of Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards this year. However, the artist ended up losing it to Killer Mike.
