Kristin Cavallari, best known for her time on Laguna Beach, recently shared a surprising encounter with pop icon Britney Spears. Cavallari claimed on her Let's Be Honest podcast on November 5 that Spears had reached out to her via text message after Cavallari discussed a conspiracy theory suggesting Spears had been cloned.

Following the initial exchange, Cavallari alleged that Spears "ghosted" her, leaving her puzzled and frustrated. Sources close to Spears have since clarified the situation, explaining that any lack of response was due to Spears being "out of the country."

Kristin Cavallari's reaction to being ghosted

Kristin Cavallari, 37, detailed on her podcast that she was initially "scared" when she received a message from Spears and her manager. The text came after Cavallari shared her thoughts on the widely discussed conspiracy theory about Spears being replaced by a clone, which had sparked a stir online in recent weeks.

"I was scared," Cavallari admitted. "I’m not going to lie. … They are f–king onto me, man. They didn’t like that [cloning] podcast episode."

Though she didn’t reveal the exact contents of the exchange, Cavallari described the conversation as "a bit of a roller coaster." She said, "It was one of the more interesting texts I’ve ever received in my life," suggesting the message included mixed sentiments.

According to Page Six, a source close to Spears clarified that the messages were "complimentary and kind to Kristin," countering any impression that Spears might have been confrontational.

After the initial text exchange, Kristin Cavallari reportedly attempted to reconnect with Spears, suggesting they meet when she visits Los Angeles in December. However, she claimed that Spears never responded. Expressing her frustration on her podcast, Cavallari said, "You f–ked with the wrong girl."

She went on to accuse Britney Spears of possibly trying to "manipulate" her into silence over her conspiracy theories.

"You’re not trying to hang out and be a buddy; you’re just trying to shut me the f–k up because I’m obviously onto something," she speculated.

Spears’s side, however, had a different take. An insider close to the pop star told Page Six that Spears had genuinely been interested in meeting Cavallari but was unable to reply to the follow-up message because she was "out of the country." The source also mentioned that Spears "has always been a big fan of Kristin’s and that’s why she wanted to connect."

Kristin Cavallari has been vocal about her distaste for what she calls "Hollywood games." On her podcast, she emphasized her refusal to play into industry tactics, describing the experience with Spears as one that seemed "insincere." She added,

"To me, now, it was all bulls–t, which I thought from the jump. I was like, this does not seem genuine to me, and you just proved my point."

Despite her frustrations, Cavallari stated she still held a soft spot for Spears. "I still want to hang out, Britney. I love you," she shared in the podcast episode, suggesting she’s open to reconciling.

Both Kristin Cavallari and Britney Spears have navigated their share of public controversies. Cavallari, who became famous on MTV’s Laguna Beach and The Hills, has since transitioned into business with her jewelry line and podcast. Spears, meanwhile, has recently been in the public eye following the release of her memoir, "The Woman in Me," which details her personal and professional struggles over the years.

Kristin Cavallari’s remarks add a new layer to Spears’s already complex public narrative, though neither Spears nor Cavallari has directly commented further on the podcast exchange. Spears, who frequently updates fans on Instagram, has not acknowledged Cavallari’s podcast or the alleged cloning theory.
