A six-minute bodycam footage from 2023 involving Latto reveals that the police instructed the rapper's security to remain inside the vehicle. During the incident, the rapper was driving a yellow Lamborghini SUV. The officer on the scene requested that the rapper lower the rear window of her vehicle.
In the footage, an officer approaches the rapper's yellow vehicle, requests her identification, and asks if the other black vehicle is her security, to which she affirmed. The officer inquired about the Atlanta rapper's identity and the reason for running the red light.
"I am a rapper. I was just trying to get home because we leaving the club and it was like people know my car. They would recognize my car, so I was just trying to hurry up and get home," the rapper told the police.
Further, the officer inquired about the club and details, to which Latto said she was coming after celebrating her best friend's birthday at the Southside.
"It's a, It's from my my best friend. It's his birthday so we was just celebrating his birthday on the Southside," the rapper replied.
Later, the officer asked the rapper how much she drank at the party, and the rapper denied consuming anything. In addition, the bodycam video shows that the officer confirmed that she was a rapper and asked her rap name.
Then, the officer returned to a police car, suggesting to Latto that she could not run red lights. Upon returning to the police car, the officer confirmed the car details, which were correct as shown. He took a breathalyzer test sample and reproached the rapper's Lamborghini.
Before administering the test, the officer asked the rapper how far she was from her home. The rapper subsequently acknowledged that she was aware she should not have run the red light.
"I am right and left at this Qt. I know I am not supposed to run red lights but we was honestly, we was really...," the rapper said.
Furthermore, the bodycam video shows that the officer ensured that Latto was safe to drive. He requested the rapper to conduct a test, which she passed.
"I got to make sure you are safe enough to drive. I know you are almost home but do you mind you give me a quick breath sample. Just wrap your lips and blow," the officer told the rapper.
Before returning to his police car, the officer told the rapper again that she should not run red lights under any circumstances. Upon returning to his car, the officer signed a ticket for the rapper and handed it over to her.
Furthermore, the officer empathized with Latto after knowing she was followed to her home. However, he indicated that she still has to follow the rules. The officer then handed over the ticket to her and suggested that she call the numbers given at the back for further proceedings and visit the court on November 9, 2023, for the same. The officer then let the rapper go.
The rapper is yet to address the incident.
